One or two times a year, I like to look back on the rumors we shared here on FujiRumors, and see if I delivered accurate content or not.

Plus, I will share the remaining rumors that should materialize in 2021 with reliability ranking.

WRONG RUMORS IN 2019

  1. Major Fujifilm X-T3 and GFX100 Firmware Update Coming Within June (but not in April) (shared April 15) – NOTE: The part with GFX100 is correct, the part with X-T3 is wrong
  2. Fujinon XF50mmF1.0 maybe shipping October 15 (shared October 6) – NOTE: it did ship in other countries by that date (for example in Europe), but I did refer to USA in this article, and by then it was still very hard to find available, which is why I move this one to the wrong rumor section
  3. Fujifilm X-T3 Firmware Update in Spring/Summer will Bring “a Significant Number” of Fujifilm X-T4 features to X-T3 (shared February 23) – NOTE: The firmware came in October, so a bit later than we predicted
  4. Fujifilm X-T3 Discontinued and $500 Rebated Removed from Fujifilm Winter Deals List (shared December 16) NOTE: the part of the rebated being removed is correct, the rest has to been taken with a grain of salt, as it comes from new source [UPDATE: Trusted sources contacted immediately after saying that the X-T3 is not discontinued, but some variation will be harder to find – read the update shared December 17. I move this to the wrong rumor list, although it is actually a sign of how great our sources are, who are able to correct withing 24 hours something that was true only for 50% of it]
  5. Fujifilm X-E line Canceled, Game Over for Fujifilm X-E4 (shared March 3) NOTE: This rumor was correct, at the time of sharing. But Fujifilm changed plans in 2 months later, and put the X-E4 in the roadmap again. And despite knowing I was correct both times, I will move this in the wrong rumor section as soon as the X-E4 materializes (update shared April 29)

Not in Ranking

  1. Fujifilm X-T4: Coronavirus Outbreak Pushes Shipping Back to Late April/Early May (shared February 26 – 2 hours before official announcement)
  2. Fujifilm X-T3 Successor Shipping in March/Early Spring 2020 (shared January 7)
    [FUJIFILM manager said that the factories closed after Chinese New Year (hence beginning February, and stayed closed until mid February, and then slowly the started production again. They did not literally say “that’s why we pushed back the release of X-T4 for a month, compared to our original plan, which FujiRumors said in early January was actually March”. Hence, it’s clear that this is actually correct, both the information I shared. But I put it out of ranking anyway.]
