Fringer Firmware Update
FRINGER Press Release: “V2.3 firmware is avaliable now. It disables in-camera lens correction which let to severe distortion when connecting Contax 645 lenses to GFX50s using Fringer smart adapter. Please download the firmware v2.3 and upgrade your adapter according to the steps in user manual (section 6). […]
As you know, Fujifilm lenses largely depend on software corrections. Whatever the file format you use, i.e. JPG or RAW, you cannot switch it off. Even in the view finder you can only see the after-correction results. Since currently all the smart adapters in the market are impersonating a G mount lens, the in camera lens correction severely disturbed the adapted lenses’ output.
Now, we totally solved the problem and integrated the solution in the firmware ver2.3. After upgrading your adapter, the Fujifilm’s lens correction would be disabled in the view finder and the JPG or RAW files the camera produces.

Who said Australia has no snow. (GFX – Tamron 15-30mm w KIPON EF-GFX E)
Shot in Kosciusko, NSW, Australia. We planned to sleep in a tent, but we got caught in a strong blizzard (yes for real). We prefered to rush to this shelter – during sunset. We ended up skiing at night, in unfriendly condition: 80-100km/h winds at roughly -15C. It was apparently the coldest night in Snowy mountains.
Skiing in those condition was hard and harassing, but we made it.
Inside, we join 7 other adventurers, who made a fire in order to warm up the place. Even if we had to stay on the floor, it felt like a 4-5 stars. In the meantime,
I decided to set up my camera outside to do two 15mn exposure. To my surprise the photo was really glowy – I soon realized that my lens and camera was recovered with frost (The glow in the photo was due to the frost accumulating on my lens).
The camera & lens recovered really well ;) and the Tamron 15-30mm f2.8 worked perfectly on the Medium Format GFX.
