Fujifilm X Summit Surprises

So, the epic Fujifilm X summit took place and we got it all covered:

And then it happened.

The one more thing.

And oh boy, was it one of a special kind!

So here is what they said:

New XF Lens on Roadmap

Fujifilm has officially teased the Fujinon XF16-50mm f/2.8-4.8.

Now, they just show the silhouette of the lens, but FujiRumors has already leaked the images months ago. And we also shared some specs, such as that it will have internal zoom.

Fujifilm says about this lens:

it’s one of the most important lenses, because it is a kit lens. The XF18-55mmF2-4.8 is a great and very popular kit lens, but it’s been here for over 10 years. We have always demand for clear high performance lenses. The answer for this demand is the XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8. This is next generation kit lens. We only have focal length and aperture info, but we can assure it’s going beyond the ordinary kit lens. Focus on improving compactness, versatility and sharpness

The Reala Film Simulation firmware and Frame.io firmware are scheduled for Summer 2024. The rest should come in Spring 2024.

X App Version 2.0

Version 2 will come within February

  • New Activity page. You can view all images taken with specific lens just but typing on the icon. If you tap the film roll, you can see all images taken with that film simulation.
  • equipment page will be added
  • shutter count
  • background download for firmware
  • Activity page will be compatible with all X cameras soon
  • later on also camera equipment page and background firmware update will be released, but support only 5th generation cameras

Limited Edition X100VI

It was a last second rumor of ours (THANKS TO THE AWESOME SOURCE): the limited edition X100VI won’t be for sale at regular stores. Sales channels will vary according to the region. So contact your local Fujifilm support to know more about it.

There will be only 1934 samples made, as Fujfilm was founded in 1934.

Sydney X Summit

Fujifilm already unveiled the location of the next X Summit: it will be Sydney.

In terms of gear we will get, we know that we are still waiting for these two cameras to get refreshed in first half of 2024. So I’d expect at least one of them to come.

Bonus – X100VI Battery Life

I know many moant that battery life on the X100VI will get worst due to more megapixel and IBIS. But fact is: it got a bit better. So I guess that’s a nice surprise too.
