So You HATE Retro FUJIFILM Dials? Then Just Customize them and Get DSLR-like Controls!

Fujifilm – Customize it

Recently we shared Jared Polin’s Fujifilm X-H1 review, where Jared complaints badly about the Fujifilm retro controls.

But as we pointed out in the review of Jared’s review, he is probably not so familiar with Fujifilm controls.

In fact, Fujifilm cameras are more flexible than anything else on the market right now.

If you like the retro analogue controls (like me), you just turn the dedicated dials, but if you hate them (like Jared), all you need to do is to set your camera in a way that all those nice retro-dials become useless, since you can control many settings via command dial, just like on a DSLR.

If you are interested to know, how it works, then make sure to check out Ming Cai Youtube VideoCustomize the Command Dials on Fujifilm Cameras to Get DSLR-like Control

And since it just fits so well in today’s article…. as a hardcore analgoue-like controls freak like myself, I share again Palle Schultz Video down below ;)

Fujinon XF 200mmF2 Sample Images and Old Vs. New 1.4x Teleconverter Comparison

Fujinon XF 200mm F2 Samples

Fujifilm X-shooter Surachart Chandenduang is testing the brand new XF200mmF2. He is photographing ice skaters and takes some portraits on the beach with the 200/2.

In his camera bag there is also a Nikon D5 with 70-200, and you can see it compared to the X-T2 with XF200 on his facebook page here.

Fujinon XF 200mm F2: BHphoto, Adorama, AmazonUS

Rico Pfirstinger has published a comparison between the old 1.4x teleconverter and new 1.4x teleconverter mounted on the Fujinon XF200mmF2 on his flickr here (where you will find many more XF200/2 samples).

Down below you see the results zoomed in 200%, and the new teleconverter delivers clearly superior resutls.

As I told you already months before announcements, the old 1.4x teleconverter was designed to work well only down until f/2.8, hence Fujifilm needed to design a new converter that works well also stopped down at f/2.

The new 1.4x Teleconverter is properly supported only by the XF200mmF2, so if you use it on other Fujinon lenses, it won’t work well.

Matt Granger Fujifilm X-H1 Review: “Phenomenal, Best Ergonomics, Survives Water Bucket Attack and Quite Good Battery Life”

Fujifilm X-H1 Review by Matt Granger

After Jared Polin’s very controversial Fujifilm X-H1 review, now it’s time for Matt Granger to share his thoughts about the X-H1.

Here is what he says about the X-H1 (tested while travelling through wonderful Laos, where he also used the X-T2):

Jared Polin Fujinon XF 90mmF2 Review: “Super Buttery Bokeh, but Freaking Slow Autofocus” – Video Review Response by Damien

Fujinon XF90mm F2 Review by Jared Polin

Recently Jared published his (not so positive) Fujifilm X-H1 review. We have written a response-article to his review, and Jared also replied to our remarks in the comments.

Now the next review is up, and it’s about the Fujinon XF90mmF2, a much-loved lens in the Fuji X community.

Overall a very positive review (who can resist to the Fujinon charm? ;) ), except for one thing: “freaking slow autofocus“.

Here are some points he makes:
