Jared Polin Fujinon XF 90mmF2 Review: “Super Buttery Bokeh, but Freaking Slow Autofocus” – Video Review Response by Damien

Fujinon XF90mm F2 Review by Jared Polin

Recently Jared published his (not so positive) Fujifilm X-H1 review. We have written a response-article to his review, and Jared also replied to our remarks in the comments.

Now the next review is up, and it’s about the Fujinon XF90mmF2, a much-loved lens in the Fuji X community.

Overall a very positive review (who can resist to the Fujinon charm? ;) ), except for one thing: “freaking slow autofocus“.

Here are some points he makes:

Fuji Guys FUJINON XF 200mm f2 and XF 8-16mm f2.8 – First Look

The Fuji Guys take a look at the brand new Fujinon XF200mmF2 OIS R WR and Fujinon XF8-16mmF1.8 R WR.

Fujinon X 200mmF2 R WR

  • weather sealed at 17 places
  • barrel made of magnesium allow, outside made of aluminium

  • OIS 5 stops of stabilization. And with X-H1 it will be stabilized in 5 axis
  • 1.8 meters minimum focus distance
  • silver color for heat dissipation and hence better image quality (but FR readers already know this since March :) )
  • You can go to from horizontal to vertical without having to turn the camera itself
  • & more

Fujinon XF 8-16mmF2.8 R WR

  • rectilinear wide-angle lens (no fisheye)
  • Nano GI coating
  • Stunning quality
  • 25 cm minimum focus distance
  • perfect for landscape and architecture photography

Jared Polin (Not so Positive) Fujifilm X-H1 Review Vs. Sony A7III

Fujifilm X-H1 Review

Jared Polin reviewed the Fujifilm X-H1 and compared it with the Sony A7III. The review is 33:19 minutes long. He uses firmware ver 1.10 (and not the latest ver 1.11, which fixes some bugs).

If you notice horizontal flashing lines in the review, it’s not Fuji’s fault. The review was filmed with a Sony A9 camera.

The Astonishing Efficiency of the Godox/Flashpoint AC Adapter – by Fujifilm GFX 50S Shooter Markus Klinko

guest post & all images by Markus Klinko

When I initially began to integrate Flashpoint XPLOR H1200 into my workflow, HSS, portability and the long lasting lithium batteries were key factors in my decision to switch from Broncolor to Flashpoint/Godox.

With the release of the 600 PRO earlier this year, I began to add more units, enough to be able to light for any conceivable studio or location requirements. I may use as many as 20 lights for a setup, or just one, but for sure I like to always have a good number of spares available.

On a recent shoot with singer/actress Becky G for the cover of GALORE magazine, and another shoot for VOGUE, I needed to have various set ups ready at once. I used only a single 600 PRO inside a modified BRONCOLOR FLOOTER S for a series of dramatic sky shots in HSS mode, and also a late afternoon pool shot, but I needed 20 units to light a series of colorful, 2000s pop inspired studio shots.
