BREAKING: Tamron Telephoto Zoom for Fujifilm X Mount Coming 2022

Image Shows the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 - For Sony FULL FRAME
Image Shows the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 – For Sony FULL FRAME

After the release of the Tamron 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3, a Tamron manager gave an interview promising three more lenses:

  • a standard zoom
  • a wide-angle zoom
  • a telephoto zoom

Since that interview, we got the standard zoom (the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8).

So there are still two more lenses missing, the wide-angle zoom (very likely to be the Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8) and an unkown telephoto zoom.

Well, according to information we have received, the wait for one of the two lenses should soon be over as Tamron is going to launch a telephoto zoom for Fujifilm X mount within 2022.

Keep them coming Tamron!!!

Fujinon XF33mm f/1.2 Patent Spotted

Once upon a time, Fujifilm planed to make a Fujinon XF33mmF1.0, which they then scraped in favor of the smaller Fujinon XF50mm F1.0.

What we got instead, is the highly praised Fujinon XF33mmF1.4.

But it looks like at some point Fujifilm also played with the idea to make a Fujinon XF33mmF1.2, as such a patent has now been surfaced in Japanese language (down below the translated version) at IP force and found by Digicame-info.

I doubt Fujifilm will now also give us a Fujinon XF33mmF1.2, but let us know in the comments if you’d want one.

CONFIRMED: No Battery Grip Option for Fujifilm X-T5 – TRUSTED SOURCE

You might remember when back in July we told you that the Fujifilm X-T5 won’t have the vertical battery grip option, making it the first Fujifilm X-T camera ever without one (the X-T1 was the first Fujifilm X camera ever to even offer a vertical battery grip, the VG-XT1).

For 76% of you guys the lack of battery grip is not a dealbreaker, but there is still a respectable 24% of potential X-T5 buyers, who would not buy the X-T5 because of that.

For those 24% the hope was high that the rumor is wrong, given the fact that it came from a new source.

However, we can now confirm by trusted sources, that the Fujifilm X-T5 will indeed have no vertical battery grip option.
