The Big Kaizen Party

Hold on tight, guys! Because X-T2 and X-Pro2 shooters are going to have a lot of fun soon.

Ready?

Two (2) sources decided to put the entire X-T2 and X-Pro2 shooter community in a frenzy of enthusiasm, by sharing with us via rumor box what follows:

There will be 2 firmware updates coming. One later this month (March), and another one is currently scheduled for May. And now comes the hot part: the firmware for X-Pro2 and X-T2 will bring 33 improved features, such as:

  • extended bracketing (maximum of 9 shots in total)
  • updates for the AF system
  • copyright info to exif
  • improved video functionality
  • viewfinder enhancements
  • GUI change
  • many others :)

A massive firmware update, worth of the best Kaizen!

Thanks for sharing, anonymous guys with nick-name. And just in case in future you decide to share more tidbits, don’t hesitate to contact me using the same nick name.

(NOTE: firmware updates can be postponed anytime. In the past, Fujifilm gave public deadlines for firmware updates, but it happened so often that they couldn’t respect their own deadline, that they decided to stop any public statement about new firmware release.)

What else will come? (personal specualtion):

And what else would you like? :)

P.S.: if you are an X100S/T shooter, please, here is the contact form to write directly to Fujifilm Japan… you may drop them an email asking for a bit of Kaizen Love.

take care,

Clarification: Fujifilm Instax Square SQ10 Hybrid digital/film (with USB-Charging) and Instax Square SQ Film Only

Fujifilm Instax Square SQ Film only
Fujifilm Instax Square SQ Film only

Whops… seems I mixed up something yesterday regarding the Instax Square rumors. Sorry, I’m going to correct it today :)

2 days ago I’ve reported about the first leaked image of the Fujifilm Instax Square SQ10. The image showed a LCD screen on the back and 6 buttons.

I’ve immediatly contacted sources, who confirmed our suspects: the Instax SQ10 is a digital/film hybrid instax camera. In fact, sources also told me that the Instax SQ10 will have a microSD card slot.

During the talk with a source, I also aksed if there will be other Instax Square versions. The source confirmed, and promised me an image for the day after of the Instax SQ… and so it did.

I’ve shared the image of the Instax SQ here on FujiRumors yesterday, and for some mysterious reason I told you it will be hybrid camera.

But actually the source never said this. It only send me the picture of another Instax Square version (the Instax SQ), without adding any comment. So, when yesterday I wrote you it will be hybrid, the source was so kind to contact me again today and tell me I’d better correct that. Only the Instax Square SQ10 will be hybrid. The Instax SQ instead will be film only.

And btw, the source added another detail: the Instax Square SQ10 will have USB-charging (in addition to the micre-SD card slot)

ok… now I think it’s time for me for a little break. I’m going to grab my dog, my camera, and go out a bit ;)

Instax Goes Hybrid: Fujifilm INSTAX Square Will have a Micro SD Card Slot – UPDATE: Fujifilm Confirms This Rumor :)

UPDATE: Fujifilm just confirmed this rumor on their instagram :) They write: “instax_squareIt’s not the first time Fujifilm combined a digital camera with an Instax Camera. Fujifilm Finepix PR21(1999) vs Fujifilm Instax Square SQ10 2017)

Just yesterday I’ve shared the first images that originally leaked on facebook by a Taiwanese store (copied on instagram later on).

Anyway, the images show the cute Instax SQ10 printer, which, btw, will not be the only Instax Square printer Fujifilm ;) . No big deal, we are used to Fujifilm launching several variations of Instax products (including Hello Kitty versions).

What made all of us curious, was the huge LCD screen on the back, which seemed to indicate that the camera could be a digital/film hybrid.

So I did my homework, and now I can tell you that the Instax Square camera will have a MicroSD card slot. So it seems your images can be stores digitally. If this is correct, then I have mixed feelings about it. I mean, part of the film-charm is that you snap your image, and whatever comes out of the box, that’s it: unique!

and btw… if the Taiwanese stores leaks further images, I’ll let you know ;)

LEAKED: Fujifilm Instax Square Images (Instax Square SQ10)… with Huge LCD screen on the Back

So guys, these could be the first images of the Instax Square… or at least one of the Instax Square version, the Instax SQ10

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you compare it to the Instax Square teaser video that Fujifilm released months ago, where you can see small details of the camera, this leaked image really looks very close to it.

Note the big screen at the back and the six buttons… something seems to be quite different compared to other Instax cameras… are we all having the same thought right now, right? :)

I guess that, like with all instax models, we will see many variations of the Squre Instax cameras and in all possible colors. Instax is a winner, and it’s years now that Instax dominates the sales ranking. As also said in a recent documentary about Fujifilm, the Instax factory can’t keep up with the demand.

The wait seems to be almost over :-)

stay tuned,

New Firmware for Fujifilm X-T2, X-T1, X-Pro2 and EF-X500 Coming (Flash Bug-Fix)

I recently told you that Fujifilm is about to release a new firmware update for several Fujifilm cameras. We all hoped from some nice Kaizen update, but it seems we will have to wait a bit longer, since this will be a mere bug fix update.

According to a trusted source (thanks) the next update will fix the bug on the EF-X500, that caused it to completely turn off erroneously.

To fix this bug, Fujifilm will release a new firmware for the flash. You will be able to perform the upgrade by yourself, using your X-T1, X-T2 or X-Pro2, but you will have to update the firmware on these cameras first, too.
