Good News (hopefully ;) ) – BUG FIXED! Fuji X-T1 Firmware might be ready for X-mas (and probably the 17th)

 photo KAIZEN_zps1fdb780f.png

On December 11 Fujifilm USA published the official announcement of the X-T1 FW4.20, sharing all the details of the update and saying it will be available for download on December 17.

But then something strange happened: Fujifilm USA had to remove it!

Why?

Because, according to my sources, the firmware was not planed for December 17 but later.

However, the article here on Fujirumors made thousands of X-T1 shooters cheer for joy for the nice Kaizen X-T1 Firmware X-mas present…. and this suddenly made a lot of pressure on Fujifilm, so they stepped on the gas pedal and worked hard to get it ready for the originally planed date: December 17.

And hear hear!!! I just got the following message from the same source, who is keeping me up to date with the latest evolution regarding the X-T1 Firmware. I quote:

the thing [new X-T1 FW] that was supposed to happen in a few days and then not, might still happen – fixed ;)”

I know, to dissipate any doubt on this little rumor-drama, it would be great if Fujfilm would tell us why they removed the official FW announcement, but I doubt they will ever officially confirm what I wrote in this post (for some reason they don’t like me ;) ).

On the other hand, you might understand that I have to protect my sources 110%, so I will never ever share more about this story than I do now. You can trust me or not, up to you… and in case you are undecided, this post might help you to take your decision.

Sometimes that’s the way it is: I have to pay for the confusion/changes/mess inside Fujifilm. But I’ve fastened my seatbelt and put on my helmet…

Is this the final thing?

While there are now again hopes to get the new X-T1 FW on Dec.17, you should always keep in mind, that Fuji can change release date of Firmware even in the last hours. Fujifilm absolutely wants to avoid the problem that occurred with X-Pro1 FW 3.00, which had to be taken off shortly after its release, because it was faulty. That’s why Firmware rumors are the trickiest to work on… there is nothing that can change so quickly like Firmware release dates.

It was a little bit of a drama, but at the end of story, we might get our X-mas present right in time :-).

New “ACROS” Film Simulation for Fujifilm X-Pro2!

According to a Source, who was right in the past, the Fujifilm X-Pro2 will feature a new black&white film simulation called “ACROS“, like Fuji’s Professional black & white negative film, the Neopan ACROS 100.

At AmazonUS you can find some ACROS reviews and samples.

As always, everyone has different needs and different tastes, but for me film simulation are fun and I’m looking forward to this one, too.

I also got a hint from an anonymous source about this (thanks).

FujiRumors sources say: No Fujifilm X-T1 Firmware 4.20 on December 17 (even though Fuji USA said it will come)!

 photo KAIZEN_zps1fdb780f.png

Firmware rumors are apparently very tricky not only for Fujirumors (Fuji can postpone the launch in any moment, if the FW is not bug-free), but they are tricky also for Fujifilm itself.

As you know, on December 11 here, Fujifilm USA has officially shared on their website the details of X-T1 FW4.20. They also wrote that it will be available for download on December 17… and I guess Fujfilm USA can be considered an Ultra Top Trusted Source.

And probably the Firmware really was originally planed for December 17, but according to FR sources, at this stage, Fuji has no plans to release the X-T1 Firmware on December 17.

This could explain, why the Firmware Announcement has been taken off shortly after it went online… but luckily there is google cache, which stored the information from the Fujifilm USA page, so we can still read the entire official announcement.

On December 17 we will get the final answer. But don’t worry: the Video Button will become a FN-button… and all the other goodies :)

IT… WORKS… AGAIN!: There was a little plug-in conflict, now sorted out, and finally you can again proceed to checkout when you buy your Fair Trade Fuji X-shirt. As you know, 100% of the Profits go into Free Education for Cambodian Kids. You can get it for $14,99 (shipping included). Thanks for your support :)

“New bridge camera is on the horizon with a 1″ sensor” (source: Amythest2112 – dpreview)

 photo X-S2_zps8i3iffvz.jpg

This summer I’ve spread a rumor about Fuji working on the first 1″sensor camer (possibly X-S2). It was a rumor from a 100% anonymous source (not even a nick-name).

So what about this rumor? Well, I haven’t heard anything since than and I started to be very pessimistic about this rumor (and I am still very pessimistic). But maybe, just maybe, there is still hope for a 1″ replacement to the original Fujifilm X-S1.

dpr member Amythest2112 said he had a talk with some Fuji Guys, who told him:

I have been eyeing/following the X-S1 and HS59EXR for a while and am about to purchase one of them so I call Fuji about a UV filter on their site and I have it from a reliable source that a new bridge camera is on the horizon with a 1″ sensor like the Pany FZ1000 […]

The guy at Fuji is telling me that it should be around $600-800 in price and even though rumors have been circulating he told me his boss is talking about it which means in his opinion a %75 chance of it being true.”

I’ve received emails from fellow X-shooters, waiting for such a camera. I hope Fuji will fulfill their wishes. But if I were you, I’d still take… the grain of salt.

New Fuji X-T1 FW 4.20 Coming on DECEMBER 17!!! … KAIZEN: “For Longer Camera Lifespan”

_ _ _

Check out the google cached Fuji USA page! The long rumored firmware update (rumored back on August 3) for the Fuji X-T1 is going to be announced today (and will be released on Dec.17)

Also correct: the rumor we shared here, about the Video Button becoming a function button. This is interesting, because it’s the same source, who told us: “there is an internal fujifilm lens roadmap that includes a 8mm, a 200mm and the 33mm.

At this point, thanks a lot to the source for sharing the rumors… and well, allow me say this to some folks (once again)… “I told you” ;)

It’s a nice Kaizen update… or as Fujfilm says: “for longer camera lifespan” :-)
