“Where is the Video-Function Button for Fuji X-T1?” :: About X-T1 Firmware 4.10, and why you should still keep faith :)

 photo gna_zpskpism8rd.png

You might or might not remember, that already back in early August, I’ve spread rumors saying that, after the amazing FW 4.0, the Kaizen Love for the X-T1 was not over. In fact, I got a hint that another Firmware is right now in the works, maybe to be named Firmware 5.0.

And I have elements to trust this rumor. There should indeed be more Kaizen love for the X-T1. What I’m trying to find out at the moment is which changes/features it will bring and when exactly it will be released. And I’m also trying to find some fellow X-tester willing to share the Beta-Firmware-file with all of us :) .

So what I think is this: the customizable Video Button will come. It will be one of the features of Firmware 5.0 (if Fuji will number it 5.0). In my eyes, the source just mixed up things a bit. It knew about the new FN-button via Firmware, but confused FW 4.10 with 5.0.

Sure, Firmware 5.0 will tell if I’m right with my assumption. And if I am, then also the second part of the rumor this source shared, the new rumored lens roadmap, could still be correct. If not, then sorry guys. I’ll try to fix it and give you a more reliable rumor about the next Fuji lens roadmap.

However, even if the source is right, and just mixed up FW 4.10 with FW 5.0, fact is that I told you that FW 4.10 will bring the customizable video button. This is why I’ll move it right in the “wrong rumors” section of my big rumor overview. I’m merciless with myself. So this rumor will join the other few wrong rumors, like the Adobe tethering update, that I said will come in August, but came 3 days too early, on July 29. Wrong is wrong!

Mark This Date: Here is the Fujifilm X-Pro2 ANNOUNCEMENT DATE… just for you, fellow FujiRumors readers :-) !

Do you know some other interesting / weird accessory for your X-camera? Then share it here :)

_ _ _

I tell you… this comes from trusted source, and therefore you better mark this date in your calendar.

However, before sharing, one important note: don’t take it as a 100% fact … I hear you saying: “Why? It comes from trusted source!” That’s right. But….

… but trusted or not, there is always a little risk to share the precise launch date several months before the official announcement. In fact, Fuji can change the date anytime for several reasons.

And believe me, if there is one thing I hate even more than posting a wrong rumor, then it’s posting a correct rumor at the time of sharing, but that turns out to be wrong, just because Fuji changed plans later on (damn you, Fuji X-Pro1S!!!).

That’s the risk of sharing early rumors, but what rumor site would FujiRumors be, if I wouldn’t take some risks for you ;) .

Ok, let’s move on.

I’ve noticed that since yesterday some fake rumors about the X-Pro2 announcement (& more) are circulating on the web, immediately debunked by the trusted Japanese source. According to the source, there won’t be any X-Pro2 at the CES in Las Vegas.

And today’s rumor is also brought to you by trusted source (thanks a lot!), who confirms: the trusted Japanese source is spot on. No X-Pro2 announcement at CES [6th to 9th January] but later. Fuji has set the announcement date to mid-January… more precisely, the 15th of January!

I don’t know you, but I’ve marked this date on my calendar. Of course I’ll let you know if there will be any changes, but I’m very optimistic that Fuji will keep this date.

Oh, and btw, isn’t Fuji launching a Big 5 years X-celebration Party at their HQ in… guess when… Mid-January? Sure, it doesn’t mean anything, it’s not a proof… we all know that coincidence exists ;-) !

NOTE: I’m still working to find out exactly when it will hit the market. Knowing Fujifilm, probably right in time for spring… 2017… just kidding ;)

there is still a lot to discover about the Fujifilm X-Pro2… so stay tuned in FujiRumors

X-T1 FW will make Video Button a FN-button + Internal Fuji Lens Roadmap with 8mm, 200mm and… 33mmF1.0!

rurmoad

OK X-folks… after the latest announcements, I’ve updated my rumor ranking and saw that I’ve shared 87,27% correct rumors.

That’s waaaaay too high for a rumor site, and so I decided to take a little risk, and share a rumor I’ve just received from an anonymous source with nick-name (thanks a lot for sharing, btw :-) ).

The good thing is: it won’t take long to see if the information shared is correct or not… we just have to wait and see, if the X-T1 firmware will make the video button a function button.

But here is the whole story:

X-T1 FIRMWARE

FN

As you know, Fuji said there will be a new Firmware coming soon. Mostly it’s all about adding XF35mmF2 compatibility to current X-series cameras. However, there might be some extra tidbits, at least for X-T1 shooters.

In fact, the anonymous source says that:

A new firmware update for the X-T1 that will make the video button a function button… as well as some other unspecified updates!

LENS ROADMAP

The source also shares information about an Internal Fuji Roadmap.

there is an internal fujifilm lens roadmap that includes a 8mm, a 200mm and the 33mm.

Yep, it’s the 33mmF1.0. However, according to the source, Fuji is still working to fix issues like AF-speed, and at least this source says that it’s not sure that the XF33mmF1.0 will ever see the light of day! But I’m confident (read this rumor).

INSTAX WIDE

No plans for a wide instax printer at this stage.

From Fujifilm UK:

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) is proud to announce that a new “FUJINON XF 35mm f/2 R WR” lens will be added to its premium mirrorless “X-Series” interchangeable lens camera line-up in November 2015. The new 35mm lens offers a focal length equivalent to 53mm, its angle of view is similar to that of the human eye, and it has a maximum aperture of f/2.0

The “FUJINON XF 35mm f/2 R WR” is a standard focal length prime lens which delivers sharp images with rich bokeh. The optical construction of 9 elements in 6 groups (including two aspherical elements) achieves the perfect balance of high image quality and compact size. The lightweight is weather and dust-resistant and can work in temperatures as low as -10°C. The XF 35mm f/2.0 features the smallest diameter in the XF lens line-up and thanks to the inner focus system and stepping motor, it achieves an autofocus time of just 0.08 sec.

This lens is very versatile and can be used for a wide variety of scenes and applications.

1. Sharp, rich image quality

Lens construction of 9 elements in 6 groups delivers sharp, high-quality images, even at the widest aperture of f/2.0.

2.  Compact and discrete

Two aspherical lenses are used to ensure a small and compact exterior. At just 45.9mm in length and with a diameter of 60mm, the slim and stylish design allows comfortable operation and draws minimum attention to the photographer, making it the perfect lens for portrait, street or reportage photography.

3. Fastest autofocus speed of 0.08 sec

An inner focusing system, which moves the small and lightweight lens elements, is combined with a stepping motor to produce quiet, accurate and fast autofocus – a must for all snap shooters that need to capture a spontaneous moment.

4. All metal exterior, weather and dust-resistant and -10°C low-temperature operation

The all-metal construction of the lens exterior ensures it is durable enough for a wide variety of shooting situations. The fine texture of the metal parts further enhance the shooting experience and ensure it can be operated easily and accurately with wet or gloved hands. The lens features a weather- and dust-resistant structure with eight seals on the lens barrel keeping the lens protected from rain, dust and splashes of water when shooting outdoors. It can also work in temperatures as low as -10℃.

5. Two types of lens hood

Lens hoods block unnecessary light from entering the lens to maximise optical performance. There are two types of lens hood available for the XF35mmF2 R WR. A lightweight and compact circular lens hood is included with it and a classical and stylish metal hood LH-XF35-2 is available for purchase as an optional accessory. Both lens hoods allow the front lens cap to be used while attached.

Fujifilm will add two high performance weather resistant Fujinon accessories to its X Series interchangeable lens line-up.
