A new source confirms: New Fuji-Flash is coming “within the next few months”!

the Fujifilm EF-42 is one of the Fuji flashes available at the market. More flash units are needed… and maybe coming within the next few months.

_ _ _

A couple of weeks ago, an anonymous source told us that Fuji plans to launch new flashes “later this year” (see this rumor). Well, today a new source confirmed the rumor, and said that a powerful flash with remote communication and HSS will be launched within the next few months.

Sure, it’s still all unconfirmed (ergo: grain of salt is needed), but the number of hints is growing. For now, the question is if the flash will be available by the end of this year or we have to wait until early 2015.

If there is anyone out there, who can confirm the flash rumor (and maybe also share some more specs), then feel free to contact me at fujirumor [at] gmail.com or completely anonymously via rumor box.

I remind you the Nissin i40 flash should be available late fall (mid-November, according to BHphoto).

Fujifilm Manager says (again): No Full Frame, focus on APS-C… for now!

Do you remember the interview with Fuji Manager Mr. Kawahara of December 2013 (see video above)? At the question if Fujifilm will go Full Frame, he answered: “We have no plan to provide full frame body… just now.

It’s the same answer over and over again. So, also at this years’ photokina, when amateurphotographer asked for a Full Frame Fuji, the answer was that the company is focussing on the APS-C line. A Full Frame Fuji would not be compatible with the existing lenses.

Fujifilm manager Oishi said that “Fuji plans to launch further X-series cameras, and there is no current plan for a full-frame model. But […] Fuji is a camera developer, so it may be a possibility at some future date.”

Ok, I can live with that Fuji… it’s better to go directly the Medium Format way ;-).

Fujifilm X-PRO2, 16-55 without OIS, specialized lenses and more! Interview with Fujifilm’s Torben Hondong (admiringlight)

 photo p2_zps35b22e00.jpg

Jordan is making an excellent work in these days at photokina. This time he had an interview with Torben Hondong of Fujifilm, You can check it out here at admiringlight.

In short:

– 16-55 without OIS: Fuji wants to contain size & weight
90mm and 16mm mock-up: the final lenses could be the same size, or they could be smaller as the mock-ups
future lenses: If the 56mm APD sells well, then they will expand the specialized lens line-up
35mm MKII: no plans for now, possible in future

….

Fujifilm X-PRO2: The discussion was about the Viewfinder. Basically Fuji is considering to put the best of the two worlds (EVF like the X-T1 & OVF of the X100T) into the X-PRO2 body. But Fuji “would see how the response to the X100T [viewfinder] was to consider the options for any potential X-Pro replacement.” The challange for Fuji is also to put an X-T1 alike EVF into an X-PRO2 that fits into a body that people expect.

KAIZEN: Camera Remote control (and 3rd party flash support) coming for Fujifilm X-E2? + New feature coming soon

firmwareFujirumors’ window to Photokina: DAY 2

_ _ _

Second update today about the upcoming Fuji firmware. This time it’s about the Fujifilm X-E2 ( btw, $50 price drop on the X-E2 at the moment).

A FR-reader just came back from photokina with the following information… and he kindly shares it with all of us:

Firmware X-E2:
Fuji is looking and testing what the hardware supports and what not. Remote Control is one of those features! But they’ve to rewrite the driver cause the X-E2 uses a different WLAN module, but it’s on the list. What seems to be not on the list would be the Instax printer support.

Nissin i40 Flash:
In theory, the Nissin i40 flash is ready, but Nissin has to wait for the Fuji Firmware to actual support 3rd party flashes.

For now I have no confirmation about the details of the update from tursted sources.

New feature coming soon – control up to three X series cameras at the same time (fujfiilm)

[:: UDPATE ::] KAIZEN: Fuji X100/S will get electronic shutter and Classic Chrome, too… according to pocket-lint!

[:: UPDATE :: pocket-lint corrected the sentence and now says:  “An update to bring such features to both the X100 and X100S models hasn’t been confirmed – but we wouldn’t entirely rule out the possibility.”]

ORIGINAL POST:

Pocket-lint put its hands on the brand new X100T… and they are “blown away” by it. The electronic rangefinder viewfinder, the real time parallax correction, the sexy look…

But there was one sentence that grabbed my attention more than any other:

In addition there’s a new Classic Chrome Film Simulation mode and 1/32,000th sec electronic shutter that are new to the series. A firmware update will see these made available in both X100 and X100S models soon.”

Wishful thinking or did a Fuji-rep drop this information into conversation? Is it possible that even the almost 4 years old classic X100 will get such a big firmware update? Or did pocket-lint simply confuse it with the upcoming X-T1 firmware?
