Fujifilm X-H1 Cameralabs First Look, Video Centric Review, Face Detection Video Tracking Test and More
Face Detection Tracing test at 梅晟義 Youtube. Keep in mind it’s pre-production firmware. Looks good so far, though. Sometimes it looks unsharp, but that’s because of the smartphone recording.
The X-H1 Coverage Continues
The buzz surrounding the Fujifilm X-H1 launch seems never to end, and while this night was the first night after 10 days, that I could sleep at least 6 hours, my X-H1 coverage continues without a pause.
But given the huge X-H1 buzz, let’s make a little summary of what has been posted already in the last 3 days.
A special note goes to TheCameraStoreTV live stream, where Fuji Guy Billy answered really many questions, including the one how Fujifilm made the X mount compatible with IBIS.

Cameralabs X-H1 Review
Cameralabs shared their X-H1 first look review on youtube here. They say:
- smaller than it looks
- he does not miss the exposure comp. dial
- small D-Pad buttons, could have been bigger, given there was space. X-Pro2 has better buttons on D-pad
- no headphone jack in body
- probably the last new body to have the 24MP X-Trans III sensor
- praxis test shows that 5 stops stabilization with IBIS is realistic on lenses without OIS
- shutter very silent
- IBIS on “early X-H1 model” that he tested was not on par with latest Panasonic and Olympus bodies. But as said, it was an early model (early firmware). For a ver.1 system it really already works very well.
Video Review + ETERNA
David Strongman Pictures Youtube, who made a video centric review analising 5 key features: IBIS, touch screen, Eterna, ergonomics, video specs. Tonnes of video samples shot under various lighting conditions. AF works pretty good when filming in low light. ETERNA gives beautfiul, natural image, less contrasty and less saturted and more tweakable compared to other film simulations. If you don’t want to shoot F-Log, Eterna will give you still flexibilitly when it comes to grade your images.
