Message to Source Who Shared X100VI Images (and More) with Me
Message to Readers 1: I know you don’t like these posts. But I have no other way to hope to get this message out to the anonymous source (with nickname), other than making a public post.

This message comes after a couple of weeks you’ve shared the rumors with me, because I wanted the X100VI buzz to settle down a bit and give this article more chances to be seen by you.
First off thanks. Thanks for sharing. Not only the images of X100VI, but also the rest.
In total you have shared 3 rumors, and only two of them made it online before the X100VI announcement. So I’d like to explain what happened on my side:
February 19 evening Italian Time (my time zone):
You passed me the leaked X100VI images, which I shared immediately once I got them.
February 19 evening (a few hours after the leaked Images)
Another rumor came in (you know what), which I did not share because it came with the text “Shhhh”. I was not sure if with “shhhh” you ment that you wanted me to keep silent about it and hence out of abundance of caution I decided not to share it. Maybe it was supposed to be for my eyes only?
However, what I did is that I immediately made an update the original images rumor article with the a note to you, asking you how you’d like me to handle the information.
February 19 afternoon Italian Time
The rumor contained two parts: the limited edition X100VI and the video specs.
As far as the video specs goes, we did share them on FujiRumors already a few days earlier, so I took your information as a welcome confirmation that what we had shared already was indeed accurate. But since they were online already, I decided not to make a new article about them.
As far as the limited edition X100VI goes, also this one we did share about it a couple of days earlier. However, in addition to what I had already shared, you also told me that the limited edition X100VI would be available for sale only via Fujifilm (and not regular photography stores).
In the stress and buzz of the preannouncement, I did miss the detail about the retailers not being able to sell the limited edition X100VI. That’s my fault and I apologize for that.
February 20 deep in the night while I was sleeping
You passed me a second email via anonymous rumor box telling me about the limited edition X100VI not being sold via retailers.
At that time I was sleeping, trying to get a bit of rest and charge energies ahead of what would be a very though and busy day.
I woke up half an hour before the announcement, and as soon as I read your second message about the limited edition, I noticed the detail I missed and very quickly published it before the announcement (as you can see here).
So I was a bit late, but it still made it online ahead of announcement.
Btw… I think I called it “limited edition” in my original rumor, but maybe in other articles or in the comments I might have referred to it as “special edition”… not sure about it.
CONCLUSION
I hope this explains why not everything went online (or why it went online a bit later).
- the “shhhh” made me unsure if I had permission to share it. So I tried to contact you via the FujiRumors website to make sure that if I share it, then also because I have your permission to do so
- the limited edition rumor I’ve shared it as soon as I noticed the detail that it would be available only via Fujifilm
I could not notice any more rumors with your nickname shared, but if I missed any other, please let me know (but I don’t think so, I think I’ve checked the emails very carefully to see if I missed anything).

Sharing rumors is the most fun part of blogging on FujiRumors.

And I guess it’s a THANKS that I extend to you also by the entire FujiRumors community, who did some great stuff with the images you decided to share with us.
But despite being the most fun part, I also know that our fun can only go as far as our sources feel safe, which is why I never share rumors if I don’t feel absolutely sure the sources also allow me to share them.
