Fujifilm X-H1 Rumor: IBIS and OIS Do Not (Currently) Work Together

Share

Fujifilm X-T2S

UPDATE: Fujifilm changed the name from X-T2s to X-H1. All rumored specs remain the same

Hey guys… I got some details about how IBIS on the X-T2S will work (at least currently).

Unlike we see on some Olympus and Panasonic cameras, the IBIS on the X-T2S can’t be combined with the OIS. So you have to use either IBIS or OIS, but they won’t work together.

What I am trying to find out now, if this is something that could be implemented later on via Firmware update or not. But at launch, I do not expect the Fujifilm X-T2S to have the “double stabilization” feature.

I remind you that it seems that the X-T2S will also not have the sensor shift multishot feature.

Full Fujifilm X-T2S rumor specs overview at the bottom of this post.

DxOMark Will Test Medium Format Cameras Soon. Fujifilm GFX 50S to be Tested Soon?

Share

Recently I asked DxO Mark on Twitter why they do not test the Fujifilm GFX 50s.

They answered, they do not test X-Trans cameras, because their RAW measurements were designed for Bayer RGB files.

I replied that the Fujifilm GFX 50S has a Bayer sensor… and they never answered again.

But maybe something is moving now. DxOmark told to Petapixel here:

“We made a pause on medium format a few years ago just because of our production bandwidth, […] We will now soon republish this type of camera, and Pentax 645Z should be published soon […] in a matter of days.”

DxOMark already started testing the Pentax 645Z a few years ago, but never finshied the complete test. However, somehow the totale score leaked on their website anyway, and it was a stellar 101. So the Pentax 645Z, presented back in April 2014, scored even better than the brand new Nikon D850.

It will be interesting to see if the full Pentax 645Z test, that will be published by DxOmark soon, will confirm the stellar 101 score.

And let’s hope that the Fujifilm GFX 50S will be next.

Fujifilm Wants 50% Mirrorless Market Share in 2 Years (in India)

Share

In the last months, Fujifilm does not lack of confindence for sure.

Just back in August they published their Vision2019 plan, where Fujifilm said they “work toward capturing No.1 market share in the premium mirrorless camera market.”

More optimitstic statements now come Fujifilm India Manager Yasunobu Nishiyama. He said:

“Within the mirrorless market, we would like to have around 50 per cent share in a span of at least two years [NOTE: 50% in India]. […]

The company has a range of 25 lenses to support its camera and is adding around 4 lenses every year in it. […]

Now mirrorless segment has a lot of features to offer and is now a winning combination. India has always followed the worldwide trends in photography, where share of mirrorless is increasing and by 2020, higher share is expected”

Then they give some data about Fuji sales in India

In 2016-17 fiscal, the total estimated size of the digital still camera was around 7.41 lakh units (1 lakh = 100,000 units) and DSLR (digital single-lens reflex camera) was the fastest growing segment with 20 per cent growth.

In this, mirrorless segment had the highest growth of 300 per cent. In 2015-16, it was total 7,900 units and was 32,500 in 2016-17,” said Fujifilm Executive VP Graphic Arts Division S M Ramprasad.

“Even in 2017-18, we are expecting a sales of 3.5-4 lakh units (1 lakh = 100,000 units) of professional and DSLR cameras in which 10 per cent would be mirrorless.
