Don’t Get Fooled: Fujifilm X100VI Lens Identical to X100V: Weather Sealing via Filters, Compatible with WCL/TCL and Sharper thanks to 40MP

Share

When we shared the teaser Nr.2 for the Fujifilm X100VI, there were quite some out there commenting and launching posts on forums about how the lens of the X100VI looks bigger than the one of the X100V.

This lead to speculations that it might have a faster aperture, or be fully weather sealed without need of these filters.

But don’t get fooled by the images.

What I can tell you is that the lens on the Fujifilm X100VI will be 1:1 exactly the same of the Fujifilm X100V.

This means:

The only difference?

It is very likely that the lens will now perform even better thanks to the increased megapixel of the Fujifilm X100VI which will result in sharper images.

Fujifilm X100VI: The True Question is… Get it in Black or Silver? VOTE NOW

Share

Let’s be honest for a moment.

The true questions about the Fujifilm X100VI are not if it will have IBIS or not (which we answered), which sensor it will use (which we answered), which lens it will use (which we answered), how big it will be (which we answered), if it will have the new Reala Ace film simulation (which we answered) and not even how much it will cost (which we answered).

That’s all just distraction from the one and only true question that obsesses us these days: Fujifilm X100VI, should I get it in black or in silver?

So I thought a nice survey could help us to clear up our mind regarding this essential question.

My preference? Well, I have a theory.

I believe that Fujifilm rangefinder cameras with OVF (X-Pro and X100 line) look better in silver, whereas rangefinder cameras without OVF (X-E line) look better in all black.

I don’t know why that is, but that’s how I see it.

So, in case of the Fujifilm X100VI, I personally would go for the silver version. But honestly I’d be very happy also with the black one. I guess any version is fine that one can find in store… important is to just find it somewhere in stock :D.

But let me know what you’d take.

I prefer the Fujifilm X100VI in...

They Are Coming!

They Are Coming

They are coming.

Soon they’ll find out.

And once they do, it’s over.

They’ll cause shortages, boost prices and create endless long waiting list.

But we can beat them.

Because the TikTok crowd is not aware of the Fujifilm X100VI (yet).

They don’t follow photography forums or rumor sites.

But it won’t take long until their TikTok idol will tell them about the X100VI.

So all we have is this short time window between announcement and the moment the news of the X100VI spreads on social media.

That’s why, if you want the Fujifilm X100VI, I make a recommendation that I can’t remember I’ve ever done in 12 years of blogging: if you want the X100VI, don’t wait and pre-order it instantly.

Beat the rush. Or risk to endlessly wait for the Fujifilm X100VI.

And remember: you can always send it back within 30 days. Or resell it at twice the price :D

But When?

Many asked me when pre-orders are taken. So here is how Fujifilm (usually) does it.

There is the X Summit. You can follow it here on FujiRumors. We will provide the live stream as well as a live summary.

During the X Summit, NO preorders are taken and NO reviews will be shared.

Once the X Summit is over (which could be anytime between 1:00AM and 2:00AM New York time), the embargo on the X100VI will be lifted. Reviews will drop and stores will upload the dedicated X100VI preorder pages.

Of course, as soon as the embargo is lifted, FujiRumors will start the Live Blog, where you’ll find all pre-order links and we will collect all the relevant reviews you should check out.
