Recently our Top Trusted Japanese source said that the Fujifilm management already gave Green Light for the development of the digital interchangeable lens Medium Format Fuji camera. Moreover, a New Source told us it will be presented at Photokina 2016 (end of September).

So, according to our Japanese Source, it’s actually not true, what Fuji Manager Takeshi Ueno said: “At the moment Fuji is not planning to launch a medium format camera […] not everyone in the company is quite as convinced to make it.”

Of course you should trust our long time Top-Trusted Japanese source ;) .

Now, the Medium Format rumor is for sure very exciting, but I’m afraid that such a camera will be too expensive, at least for me. So I’ll happily stuck with my amazing APS-C cameras and phenomenal Fujinon lenses.

But what about you? Are you interested to purchase a Medium Format Fujifilm Camera with interchangeable lenses? And if yes, how much would you pay for it?

So here is the Poll… and it is for sure one of those polls, Fuji will discuss at the next management meeting ;) . So feel free to give your honest feedback and let Fuji know.

Fujifilm Financial Report Q3 says X-T10 sells Strong… but it’s Still Instax to Rule Them All!

Share

The latest Fujifilm Report (Q3) is online:

The overall sales in the photo imaging business increased due to the strong sales of instant photo systems centering in the United States and Europe.

Though the sales volume largely decreased due to the shift to high-end models, the sales of premium digital cameras X Series centering on FUJIFILM X-T10 were strong.

In the Imaging Solutions segment, profit significantly increased, reflecting the increase of gross profits by strong sales of the photo imaging business and other  factors, while revenue decreased due to the shift to high-end models of digital cameras and others.

Special Mention again for the Instax Cameras, in particular the latest addition, the Selfie Instax Mini 70:

In the photo imaging business, the overall  sales significantly increased due to the  strong sales of instant photo systems such as instant cameras, instant films and  others centering on Europe  and the United States. Fujifilm strengthened a lineup  of instant cameras by  release of new product  “instax mini 70” in October”

RUMOR :: Fujifilm will launch a 2.0 Teleconverter this year, too (Source Right in the Past)

Share

20TC

There is a new source climbing up the reliability rating, and that has been recently upgraded to “source, right in the past”, that shares with us the following information:

Fuji will launch a 2.0 Teleconverter this year. It might happen already before Photokina 2016 (end of September), but take the grain of salt with release date, no matter from which source it comes (not even if it comes from Fujifilm itself ;) )

To the source: I’m verifying the other information you send me… if you want, you can contact me also via email [fujirumor@gmail.com], so that I can keep you up to date and discuss the rumors behind the scenes, before they go online… or just keep it up as now, using the nick-name via rumor box.

Fujifilm Will Launch a Medium Format Camera (Top Trusted Japanese Source) :: New Source says it will be presented Photokina!

Share

Recently, Fuji Manager Takeshi Ueno said here, that Fuji is investigating the Medium Format camera, but there are no concrete plans for now to make it, since “not everyone in the company is quite as convinced to make it.”

I’ve contacted our Top Trusted Japanese Source, and asked for clarification… and its answer is clear:

The Source said that the Digital Medium Format Fujifilm (with interchangeable lenses) already got Green Light from the Management.

Yep, the Medium Format Fuji will come!

– – -End of the trusted rumor… and you can forget the Grain of Salt this Time :) – – –

But there is more.

I’ve been contacted by a New Source (thanks for sharing :) ), who told me that the Digital Medium Format Fujifilm Camera should be presented to the world at Photokina 2016 (late September). And yes, this time you guys have to Take it with a Grain of Salt.

So this seems to be Fuji’s future: an amazing & mature APS-C system + a Medium Format System… 2016 could really be a great Fuji Year.

And if priced somewhere between the Pentax 645D and the Pentax 645Z this camera could be a real winner for Fujifilm.

X-Pro2, the next generation at macleancomms

Digging into the Fujifilm X-Pro2: Studio analysis and full-production sample gallery added at dpreview :

“It’s widely assumed that Fujifilm’s X-Trans sensors use low-noise Sony silicon behind their unusual color filter arrays, and the performance of the X-Pro2 is certainly up to that standard. Compared here with the Nikon D5500 (using the same shutter speeds so that they are working with the same amount of light), you can see very similar amounts of noise up to a 4EV push, and possibly a fraction more after a 5 stop push, though the difference may simply be one of grain structure, caused by the different demosaicing processes.

This performance gives plenty of flexibility when it comes to pulling extra tonal information out of the shadows. It means there’s more scope for processing than with the likes of the Canon EOS 70D, and very similar to the results of the Samsung NX1.”

90mm Review at photozone:

The Fujinon XF 90mm f/2 R LM WR is the best Fujifilm lens that we have tested so far. It is exceedingly sharp straight from f/2 and the low amount of lateral chromatic aberrations provides an extra kick here. Distortions are basically absent and vignetting isn’t an issue under in most situations as well. Unlike most mirrorless lenses, it is fully corrected and doesn’t really rely on any digital image auto-correction.”

Fujifilm XF 90mm f2 review at cameralabs:

Ultimately the XF 90mm f2 is another superb addition to the growing X-system and one which will delight portrait photographers, not to mention anyone who shoots close-range action or likes to capture tighter details on landscapes and buildings. It excels at subject separation with well-behaved bokeh, but is also one of the sharpest and fastest focusers in the range.”
