Fujifilm X100T: no tilt screen, probably same lens… but Real-Time Parallax in OVF „will pretty much kick ass“ ;-)!

THE RUMOR CORRECTION

Back in February a new source shared here the following rumor about the X100S replacement (which he called X200): 24mp, tilt screen and new fixed lens. Maybe these specs were right at the time of sharing, but they are probably wrong now.

In fact, a source who was right in the past with some X-T1 specs, just told me that the X100T won’t have a tilt screen and gave me also the following specs about the lens: 23mm, 8 glass elements in 6 groups HTC-EBC coating. Sound like the same lens of the X100S.

THE HYBRID VIEWFINDER

There is no need to break out in panic ;-) .

The fact that I’ve leaked the (rumored) EVF specs of the X100T, doesn’t mean that it won’t feature also a OVF! I also never said that the X100T will be EVF only, but my fault eventually was not to insert the HVF in the rumored specs list and this might have created some uncertainty. Sorry for that, and I added it now.

The truth (ok, the rumored truth) is, that the X100T will actually feature a new, improved hybrid viewfinder. An anonymous source describes it literally so:

  • “expect proper electronic overlay on the next generation Fuji ovfs… the x100s and xpro1 updates will pretty much kick ass, if just because of that.”

A new source simply told me that:

  • “X100T: Real-time parallax in OVF”

So don’t worry, the HVF was and will remain one of the amazing key features of the X100 and X-PRO line… and it will become even better :-).

And before the updated specs list, here is the poll suggested by FR-reader Douglas Gottlieb.

The mysterious Super-Bokeh lens? Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD! (for about $1400/$1500)

Share

index

You might remember that I told you about a creamy-dreamy bokeh XF lens with STF technology similar to Sony/Minolta’s STF (Smooth Transition Focus). As many of you, I also thought that the hottest candidate for such a lens is the XF 90mm f/2 lens.

But that’s wrong, at least according to 2 anonymous sources (both with nick-name, thanks for sharing). The source said:

“The new superbokeh lens will be Fujinon 56mm.”

The second source shared some more details and said:

“Fujinon XF 56mm 1.2 R APD: Fuji nanotechnology apodizing filter produces smoother bokeh. $1400-1500 US retail.”

The classic XF 56mm [shoplink 21554]is available for $999[/shoplink].

the Nissin i40 is listed as ready to ship in 7-14 days at BHphoto… too optimistic?

_ _ _

The Nissin i40 flash for Fuji-X was rumored to come in September. But now Nissin released an official note, where they say that the Fuji-X version of the flash, originally planed to be launched in September, is now delayed to undetermined release date (from the google translated dc-watch article) .” Read Nissin’s official note here (translation) or also at dc.watch here (translation).

So the rumor, shared back on July 4th, was correct at the time of sharing, but there was a last minute delay.

The Nissin i40 is a new great super compact powerful and flexible flash with ergonomics of the Fujifilm EF-X20. It recently won the TIPA Award 2014 for the“Best Portable Lighting System”.

“The small (3.35 x 2.4 x 3.35 inches) and lightweight (203g, without battery and soft box) Nissin i40 is available in models dedicated (TTL) to Canon, Nikon, Sony, Four thirds and Fujifilm models, and can cover a lens angle of view from 24-105mm, with additional coverage to 16mm with the supplied diffuser. The Guide Number is 40 at the 105mm setting (meters/ISO 100) and 27 at 35mm. An innovative LED illuminator sits where smaller fill flash modules were in the past, and the light can be used for both still and video recording with 9 steps of output. The i40 offers rear, front curtain and high-speed sync, wireless slave and can be swivelled up to 180 degrees right and left and 90 degrees vertical.”
