Fujifilm X100T will have a 16MP (and not 24) – Trusted Source

Share

 photo asd_zps6ba51043.jpg

I know, I said back on the 11th of February, that the Fujifilm X100S successor would feature a 24MP sensor. The rumor came from a new source here. I also know that back in July, also the usually well informed xjrumo said here, that it will feature an 24MP sensor. Maybe these rumors were right at the time of sharing, but now I have to correct them all.

In fact, our trusted Japanese friend said that the Fujifilm X100S replacement (X100T) will feature a 16MP sensor.

And once again, I simply close my eyes and trust our Japanese source blindly… and I therefore updated the rumored specs list at the bottom of this post.

cheers,

P.S.: Any more information about the Fujifilm X100T (or anything else) is highly welcome! You can do it also 100% anonymously via rumor box (and feel free to use a nick-name).

NEW Speed Booster ULTRA! Improved corner sharpness and reduced distortion and vignetting… now also for Fuji X.

 photo sb_zpsb4b1f627.jpg

Metabones’ speed booster was one of the most innovative products of 2013. This focal reducer basically turns your APS-C Fuji-X camera into a Full Frame camera.

And now Metabones announced their updated version of the adapter, the Speed Booster ULTRA. Sharper, less distortion and vignetting, and available for pre-order now at BHphoto here. You can get it for: FD-Xmount / Nikon G-Xmount / Alpa-Xmount / Contarex-Xmount / Leica R-Xmount / MD-Xmount / QBM-Xmount. See all options here.

Press Release Text

Speed Booster ULTRA

Sharper corners, less distortion, reduced vignetting

New optical design:  advanced 5-element/4-group optical design incorporating ultra-high index tanatalum-based optical glass to achieve extraordinary optical performance with improved corner sharpness, distortion and reduced vignetting.

Like the revolutionary original Metabones Speed Booster announced in January 2013, the Speed Booster ULTRA has a magnification of 0.71x, and so it effectively reduces the crop factor of mirrorless cameras with DX-sized sensors, such as Sony E-mount and Fuji X-mount cameras, from 1.5x to 1.07x.  However, the new ULTRA design makes very effective use of exotic materials at the furthest limit of glassmaking technology, and as a result is well corrected for use with virtually all fullframe SLR lenses regardless of exit pupil distance. Thus, the Speed Booster ULTRA performs extremely well with professional-grade f/2.8 zoom lenses such as the 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8 zooms by Canon and Nikon to produce 17-50mm f/2.0 and 50-142mm f/2.0 high-speed zooms, respectively.  Similarly, high-speed fixed focal length lenses such as a 50mm f/1.2 will be transformed into a 35.5mm f/0.9 lens with excellent contrast and resolution from the center all the way to the edges of the image. (More information can be found in the press release here)

Clear, star-filled sky. No moon. 64 degrees. No wind. Can’t ask for better weather to shoot the millions of stars and the Milky Way!
