Fujifilm corrects Photokina-TYPO: No Full Size Sensor but APS-C sensor “which rivals full frame”

Just a flash: last week Fujifilm told us at their dedicated Photokina website that they will show visitors “high image quality with a full size sensor“. But Fujifilm just corrected the typographical error and now says that “the emphasis will be on the high resolution of the APS-C sensor, which rivals that of a full frame sensor.”

And another Mini-Rumor: Fujifilm says they will update their App soon. Check out this tweet.

And here it is all in black: the Fujifilm X30. Control ring and tilt screen… everything as rumored until now. The camera should be announced on Tuesday, August 26… and there is an excellent reason to read Fujirumors on that day ;-)

[UPDATE: no FF, but APS-C] Fujifilm says they will show “full size sensor” cameras at Photokina

Share

– – – – – [UDPATE: Fujifilm corrected the typo. Read more here.] – – – – –

Fuji launched a special Photokina site here. The strange thing, spotted by mirrorlessrumors here, is that Fuji says they will show Photokina visitors “high image quality with a full size sensor“.

Now type “full size sensor” in google, and look at the results…. you’ll get plenty of articles about Full Frame sensors.

Why should Fujifilm call an APS-C sensor “full size“? It would obviously be mistaken for a “Full Frame” sensor. If they mean APS-C, then I recommend Fuji to change the wording. And if they do not mean APS-C, then I have some work to do now.

NOTE: Fuji Manager Mr. Kawahara said back in December that XF lenses would NOT be compatible with full frame camera. “If we launch the full frame body we have to launch the full frame lens too. So it is not good for X-series user.”

NEW FIRMWARE will bring faster shutter speed (1/32000), better movie capabilities, faster AF and more (new source)

Share

 photo neukai_zpsdf3dff47.png

As you might have already read here on Fujirumors, a trusted source told me that a new firmware for the X-T1 will come.

Now, also a new source told me about it and shared some details. Keep in mind that also this source just told me about an X-T1 update… but personally I hope this doesn’t exclude the possibility that other X-cameras will be updated, too.

Here the rumored features:

  • shutter speed will increase from 1/4000 to 1/32000

  • better movie capabilities

  • faster/better AF (including phase detection on instant AF)

  • some other minor improvements (like new film simulation modes)

  • firmware updates will be released in October and December

Is an electronic shutter coming via firmware update? Now that would be an update worth of the word “KAIZEN” :-).

It’s a rumor, from a brand new source, so take it…. CUM GRANO SALIS.

EXCLUSIVE !!! Rico’s First Look at a “new X-camera” coming August 26 early in the morning (London Time)!

Good news everybody!

Rico just told me that he is preparing a First Look to a “new X-camera“. It will be ready for the 26th of August. Well, you know what is rumored to come, but Rico just said something about a “new X-camera“.

THE TIME: Fuji usually announces new gear and firmware early in the morning here in Europe. This means it should happen around midnight in New York.

There will be also a LIVE BLOGGING session on that day. I’ll collect every bit of information about the new X, that I can find on the world-wide web, which is worth to be shared and you should not miss.

But just look at the Rico’s previous First Looks (like the one on the X-T1 here) and you’ll understand why I feel save to say, that you will hardly find a better initial report than Rico’s one.

So stay tuned and follow Fujirumors also via facebook, google+, RSS-feed and twitter.

NOTE for GERMAN readers: upon request of many German X-shooters, Rico has prepared a comprehensive article about Fujifilm’s ISOless sensor in German language over at his workshop page fujixsecrets here. Make sure to check it out.
