Fujinon XF 16-55mmF2.8 Emergency Firmware Available

Share

Fujifilm has released the emergency firmware for the Fujinon XF16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR that was promised to us a few days ago.

Fujinon XF16-55mm f/2.8 ver.1.31 – download here
The firmware update Ver.1.31 from Ver.1.30 incorporates the following issue:

We have found some malfunctions (Phenomenon in which the exposure of a captured image becomes abnormal in combination with a certain focal length and aperture value) in the firmware Ver. 1.30 released on 22 Jan 2024.
Customers who have updated to Ver.1.30 should update to Ver.1.31.
If you update to Ver.1.31, the functions will be the same as Ver.1.20 and the following functions (*) added in Ver.1.30 will no longer be available.
* Improved exposure tracking during zoom operation.

Now THAT was fast. Considering that I would love to update my Fujinon GF50mmF3.5 firmware, but that one is suspended since forever (same thing also for the GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR). Dear Fujifilm, in case you don’t know, we also use your GFX gear. So we’d love a fix for that too.

LEAKED: First (Pixelated) Images of Fujifilm X100VI Unveil no D-Pad

Share

These are very likely the images of the Fujifilm X100VI.

The images are partially pixelated and overall low resolution, and yet they unveil something that you guys asked me: will it have a D-Pad? The answer based on these images is clearly “no”!

How can we be sure that it is not the X100V?

Well, it looks like next to the DISP/BACK button there is an additional logo printed (probably bluetooth logo). And that one is not there on the Fujifilm X100V. So this is a different X100 camera.

And THANKS a lot to the FR-reader for sending them to us.

Fujifilm Says Major X App Update is Coming, Includes Compatibility for Older Fujifilm Cameras (Camera Remote App is Dead)

Share

As spotted by a fellow FR-reader (thanks!!!) Fujifilm has published a post in which they recommend Fujifilm X Shooters to use the new X App instead of the old Camera Remote App..

Are you still using the Camera Remote App? This is the time to make the change and download the FUJIFILM XApp application, with which you can store the information of the settings with which you captured your photographs, in addition to being able to backup, restore and copy your camera settings.

Fujifilm also said you can delete the Camera Remote App as it won’t get any updates anymore.

At this point many Fujifilm X shooters pointed out that older Fujifilm camera are not supported by the Fujifilm X App, and Fujifilm had this reply for them:

Do not worry! Very soon we will make a big update so you can continue using your favorite equipment

So it looks like Fujifilm is working to retire the Camera Remote App forever and make the new X App accessible also to all those fellow Fujifilm X shooters, who until now could not use it because their camera was not supported by the X App.

Thanks a lot to the FR-reader for letting us know about it.

And I am pretty sure the Camera Remote App won’t be missed by those, who until now are still forced to use it because their camera is not (yet) supported by the X App.
