So we told you that the successor of the Fujifilm X100V will be called Fujifilm X100VI.
Now, according to our survey, 80% of you thought that other names would have been more appropriate.
And you know what?
I agree that Fujifilm could have been more creative with the name. And certainly they had lots of creative options on the table.
My new favourite (as suggest by a FR-reader): X100-00S, where “00S” stands for “out-of-stock” :).
But why did they go with “Fujifilm X100VI” then?
Well, because at the end of the day, from a business (and not creative) point of view, it’s by far the best choice.
Let me tell you why.
Viltrox 40mm f/2.5 First Image
Back in September, Richard Wong had a talk with Viltrox. In that talk, the marketing manager of Viltrox said that the following lenses are coming:
- Viltrox 20mm f/2.8 – available now for Sony E mount
- Viltrox 40mm f/2.5
- Viltrox 56mm f/1.7
- Viltrox 135mm f/1.8 Lab
- Viltrox Zoom lenses
Now the first image of the Viltrox 40mm f/2.5 has been shared on the web (see above).
No indication has been given on when the X mount version of this lens will be launched.

The Fujinon XF27mmF2.8 R WR and Fujinon XF70-300mmF4-5.6 were both announced in January 2021.
Well, for the past three years, both lenses where rarely in stock! Last time I noticed them in stock was back in May 2023.
But good news:
Both lenses are now back in stock at BHphoto here. And in case of the XF27mmF2.8 R WR, it’s in stock also at Amazon here.
At all other stores listed below both lenses are still backordered.
I love my XF27mmF2.8 R WR. In fact it was the only lens (mounted on my X-E3) that I took with me on my last hike (you can see the video here plus a few images I took).
I don’t own the XF70-300mm myself, but from people who own it I also just hear great things about it.
