Fujifilm has often said that PSAM cameras like the Fujifilm X-H2S and X-S10 serve the purpose to attract new customers into the X system.
So I was curious about this and thought that we can investigate if, at least here among the FujiRumors community, Fuji’s plan to bring new photographers into the X system thanks to PSAM dial cameras actually worked.

Cosina just announced the Voigtländer MACRO APO-ULTRON 35mm f/2 for Fujifilm X.
Just like the Voigtländer NOKTON 23mm F1.2 X and the Voigtländer NOKTON 35mm F1.2 X it is a manual focus lens, but with electronic contacts so it can communicate with the camera.
Recently a Fujifilm manager said that they are committed to bring X-H2S autofocus features as much as possible to older models (X-T3/X-T4).
So what, is Kaizen coming back?
Well, Kaizen never left. It was just on semi-pause for a while, and for an excellent reason I might say.
Let me explain.
In the lastest Fujicast episode, Kevin and Neale have, among the others, a talk with Fujifilm UK manager Andreas Georghiades recoded live at the House of Photography in London.

Earlier today Fujifilm released firmware updates for ten Fujifilm X and GFX cameras.
The firmware included XF150-600mm f/5.6-8 compatibility for three Fujifilm cameras, the X-T4, X-T3 and X-S10.
This lead to the misunderstanding that the Fujinon XF150-600mm f/5.6-8 will work only with four cameras: the Fujifilm X-H2S, the X-T4, X-T3 and the X-S10.
However, that’s not correct.
The Fujinon XF150-600mm f/5.6-8 will work with all Fujifilm X series cameras. However, except for the four cameras mentioned above, the other cameras will have restrictions on some features and functions. The same is valid also for the brand new Fujinon XF18-120mmF4.
Here is what Fujifilm writes on their compatibility page:
When Fujifilm recently laid out their future camera lineup, we could see that going on, the Fujifilm X series will still have more cameras featuring a classic retro layout as opposed to PSAM.
That’s good for us Fujifilm X shooters, as this means we still have plenty of retro option to pick from also in future (Fujifilm X-T5, X-Pro4, X-T40 and X-E5).
But for some reason, the fact that Fuji also offers the X-H2/S and X-S10 with PSAM dials is spreading panic among the Fuji community, that Fujifilm is giving up on the classic control layout most of us fell in love with.
I guess that’s why a Japanese Fujifilm manager said in an interview with the Japanese youtube channel Camera Kitamura, that the Fujifilm X-T line will continue and differentiate itself from the Fujifilm X-H2/S thanks to a more classic layout.
The manager says the reason for having the X-S10 and X-H2/S, is that a PSAM dial helps to attract new customers from other system to Fujifilm. But that the X-T line won’t feature a PSAM dial.
Other than that, here is a summary I made by relying on the bad Google YouTube translation tool. If any Japanese reader has any suggestions for stuff to add or correct, please let me know.

The Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 has just been announced.
We have it covered in previous articles:
But here is one important thing that should not pass unnoticed: the official list of supported Fujifilm cameras.
So I think it is worth to highlight them in its own article. Accroding to Tamron, the new Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 will work fine with the following Fujifilm cameras (see below):
