Fujifilm XApp Available for Download Again (“Incorrect Wording” Fixed)

Share

The Fujifilm X App is now available for download again for iOS here and for Android here.

The reason they pulled down the entire App? Well, here it is:

Incorrect wording in the “Your country or region” selection field has been corrected.

Wow… Fujifilm has set some high standards with this App if they remove it just for a spelling error.

And guys, don’t expect me to apply the same standards to this blog. There probably would not be a single article online on FujiRumors if I’d have to remove every article that contains spelling errors.

Fujifilm GFX100 (and Other Cameras?) to Get XApp Support with Future Firmware Updates

Share

When Fujifilm launched the new XApp, they also shared a list of camera models that are compatible with the new App.

And if you look at the official press release of Fujifilm Global, the Fujifilm GFX100 is not supported for the new XApp.

However, if you look the the press release of Fujifilm USA here, well, they do list the Fujifilm GFX100 as compatible!

So what’s going on?

Well, right now, the Fujifilm GFX100 is not supported (so the US press release is NOT accurate).

But Fujifilm USA managers said in the Tech Talk last night (which I participated myself), that for sure there will be a firmware update coming for the GFX100 that will add XApp support also for that camera.

So, the GFX100 is not supported yet, but it will be in foreseeable future thanks to a firmware update.

That brings hope also for other models, as clearly Fujifilm is not yet done with adding XApp support for their cameras, so maybe, along with the GFX100, also other models will be made compatible down the road.

Fujifilm Removes New Firmware for GFX100S and GFX50SII and Promises Fix on May 31 (and Work Around Solution)

Share

Yesterday Fujifilm has released lots of firmware updates for 13 Fujifilm cameras (including some major updates!!).

Two of those cameras were the Fujifilm GFX100S and the GFX50SII.

Sadly, after updating, many FujiRumors readers started to report to me that they were now incurring in issues with the new firmware.

Well, Fujifilm has now pulled off the firmware for those two cameras and said they will release a firmware fix on May 31.

Fujifilm writes:

We have confirmed a problem with the exposure compensation function not working properly.
Therefore, we have removed the download button for this version.
We will release fixed firmware on May 31.

As soon as the new firwmare is online, I will report about it on FujiRumors.

Also, fellow Fujifilm GFX group member Carlos shared a workaround and he shared it in our group.

“I found a solution or “work-around” to Firmware (FW) 2.0 disabling the Exposure Compensation button on my GFX100s. The solution “is in the manual”, as some repeatedly and annoyingly say.
Go to the menu, and instead of choosing “+/- when pressing” (which was the default setting from the factory set-up), now choose “ +/- on/off switch”.
With this option, you will press on your camera the +/- Exp Comp button, then turn the back wheel to make a change, and then press the +/- Exp Comp button to deactivate the back wheel from altering the ExpComp. If you don’t deactivate it, turning the back wheel will not alter your shutter speed. “

We remind you that Fujifilm removed also the XApp from the App stores due to issues with the display. A fix is on the way also there, but you can continue to use the App with no problem if you have already installed it.

FUJIFILM XApp Distribution Suspension Notice and Apology (Display Problems)

XApp Suspension

FujiRumors already reported that the Fujifilm XApp has been pulled off from the App stores.

Now Fujifilm issued a press release where they apologize for this and they say it has been removed due to “display problems”.

If you have already installed it, just keep using it. And if you see something that does not make much sense on the screen, you know Fujifilm is fixing it.

Fujifilm XApp Temporarily Removed from App Stores

Share

The brand new Fujifilm XApp, which was just released yesterday, has now been completely pulled off the the iOS here and for Android here.

I have the App already on my phone and it works perfectly fine and stable, no matter how much I stress test it. So it does not seem to be a technical issue and I guess we will get it back shortly.

But let me know if you are having any issues in the comments down below.

I will let you know when the App is back and available for download again.
