So, if even “Mr. Leica” Thorsten Overgaard decided to grab a Fuji (the X-Pro2), then we now have all the right to say that Fuji is indeed the new Leica :) . A full review of the camera will come after longer testings, but here are Thor’s first impressions.
he likes its simplicity (not many buttons) and it brings him back to when he started photography
in many ways it feels natural in the hands
big compliments to the Fuji manual :)
In natural light the skin tones look great and all colors look pretty precise
With artificial light in the evening the blue and orange colors are a little bit too strong, but you can get away from auto White balance, but that’s a problem for all cameras to get colors 100% right in such situations
he really likes the X-Pro2, and it’s from now on going to travel with with him in a bag with many other Leica gear
Meike X-T2G hand grip for X-T2 improves the grip on the camera and reduces the chances of camera shake, especially when using heavy, large aperture lenses. Can be used as a quick release with compatible tripods. This metal grip can be left in place when using a tripod and enables users to change the battery and SD card without having to remove the grip from the body.
There are updates also for the XF 18-55 and XF 10-24
1.The phenomenon is fixed that in rare cases, a focal length could be displayed wrongly and/or shaking could be seen in a peripheral part of images even if a focal length and a focus are fixed.
Many of you have probably already heard about (and maybe even seen) Christopher Nolan’s latest blockbuster, Dunkirk (trailer here). [Note: C. Nolan also made Inception, The Dark Knight & more]
Well, if you search for “Dunkirk” on the web, you will probably be redirected to sites like comingsoon.net, where you can see some images (including behind the scenes images) of the movie as well as the trailer.
So yes… the APS-C X-Pro2 and the XF18-135 superzoom were used on the set of one of the biggest movies of the year… and its images were used all over the globe to promote the movie :) !
I own the Fujinon XF 18-135… and I always thought it’s kind of awesome for a superzoom :)
It’s nothing new, that Hollywood loves Fujifilm cameras. The X100S was the travel camera of Hector, in the Movie ““Hector’s Search for Happiness” (which I saw in the airplane, when flying back from Cambodia) and the Fuji X-Pro1 was used in the Movie “The Neon Demon” by Nicolas Winding Refn. X-series cameras are also used in TV series like Parenthood TV, The Last Ship and by lots of celebrities.
I already told you here and here, that Fujifilm will launch a nice kaizen firmware update for the Fujifilm X-Pro2, which will bring, among the others, 4K video to Fuji’s rangefinder flagship.
Well, I hear tethering should also come to the Fujifilm X-Pro2 via firmware update :)
Good times are coming… stay tuned on FujiRumors via Facebook, RSS-feed andTwitter… the party is on September 7… and I’m ready for non stop live blogging session here on FujiRumors :)
Fujifilm recently launched “Shacolla”, a a double-side self-adhesive foam panel that can be used several times to attach new pictures. You can read more about it at fujifilm.eu and you can find it at AmazonUS here, bundled with the Instax SP-2 printer.

And yes, sometimes I just can’t contain my enthusiasm and excitement for the Fuji X and G systems, which brings me to write long emotional articles when a camera gets discontinued or lose myself in a frenzy of happiness for a rumor, when I could have said everything with 1 headline and saved a lot of my spare time.
That’s who I am… can’t change it… deal with it ;)
However, this is FujiRumors… and I know that this blog is a big source for all things Fuji for many of you guys.
That’s why my number 1 priority will always be to deliver honest, good, fair, fast and accurate service to you… even if it means that sometimes we have to talk “bad” about Fujifilm.
So here on FujiRumors we are are free to…
write about my main 2 complaints on the Fujifilm X-T1 – read here
launch polls investigating why people don’t buy Fujifilm (highlighting the weaknesses of the system) – read here
We love Kaizen, but recently called the Wireless Tethering feature a Joke – read here
When we think Fujifilm is losing the path (and its “soul”), we report (and comment) about it – read here
When reviewers give negative feedback about an important key feature of a new camera (such as the hybrid viewfinder on X100T), we will report about it – read here
FujiRumors is regulary the first place that reports about issues and bugs, such as the mushy buttons on the first batch of X-T1’s and more
I’ll just quickly add, that I can do this only because I have absolutely 0% contacts with (and zero favours/money/support from) Fujifilm, which gives me an immense freedom to write whatever I want.
You guys, the FR-readers, are my only boss… and all I want to do is to deliver you the best content and rumors possible.
The Roundup
The Fujifilm X-System is not for everybody. Depending on what your needs are, you may be more or less satisfied with it. Some people love the X-system so much, that they can live with minor issues (maybe waiting for a Kaizen Firmware to fix it), some others just have to return their Fuji camera, just like LivingVertical did with his X-T2 (video above) or alastairarthur did with his X-Pro2 (link below).
But there are also many very happy Fuji users out there, who keep up producing great work with their Fuji gear (such as Kevin Mullins’ recent wedding Photographs)… and I’m happy to share them in this roundup, too.
