Now less than 50% Japanese households do own a Digital camera

Share

Nikkei writes:

The penetration rate of digital cameras among households at the end of fiscal 2023 will fall below 50% for the first time in 19 years since the end of fiscal 2004. The demand for compact digital cameras has fallen as smartphone ownership has increased. Japan once had a strong presence in digital home appliances, but is now in a notable decline.

Not really a surprise. That’s why digital camera companies focused on the enthusiast amateur and pro market.

This Recipe is Taking the Fujifilm Community by Storm – Classic Cuban Neg

Share

Over at our Fujifilm film simulation group, there is a new recipe that is taking the Fujifilm community by storm: Classic Cuban Negative.

Originally crafted by member Osan (IG: @osanbilgi), his recipe is harvesting likes and praise at our group.

Other members have already dialed it into their camera, such as fellow member stu here, who also made a YouTube video about it that you can check out below.

The film simulation is quite flexible and works well on a variety of settings, but shines best in street photography.

Osan has also made a couple of variations to the original recipe, such as CubanAce Recipe and Cuban Street Neg (similar to Classic Cuban Negative but a bit more subtle and easier on skin tones, hence more suited for shots with people in scene).

You can check out all the images of Osan here, as well as the recipe.

But for those, who are not part of the film simulation group, here is the recipe:

Fujifilm Says Bug Fix Firmware for X-T5(and X-H2/S) Should Come in July

Share

A FR-reader contacted the Fujifilm support asking about the buggy firmware for his Fujifilm X-T5.

The reply he got is that if he sends his Fujifilm X-T5 in for support, they will install the older firmware on it.

But the Fujifilm support has also received the information that the next update will be released in July.

Now, this is for the X-T5. But considering that the X-H2 and X-H2S have the same issue, I guess that’s valid also for those cameras.

While I am happy to read that Fujifilm is aware of the issue and working on it, I hope they can release it earlier than July. Or at least make the older firmware available for everyone for download.
