Quick Review: Elinchrom Indirect Litemotiv Octa 190cm

Share

Markus tests the ‘extraordinary’ Indirect Litemotiv 190 from Elinchrom and adapts it for the Flashpoint Xplor 600 Pro.

guest post & all images by Markus Klinko

If you already read my recent article on this site about cross brand adaptations, you know that the Elinchrom Zoom Spot 18–36° is one of my current favorite key lights.

In order to maximize my adaptation of these spots for Flashpoint XPLOR 1200 extension heads (Godox H1200) and the new AD600 PRO units, I made sure to add the small reflector that is a standard for all Elinchrom flash heads, to my adapters.

Initially, I combined the Phottix Elinchrom to Bowens adapter with the reflector from the Elinchrom Quadra adapter, by adding a custom, acrylic tube piece.

This solution proved to be not as durable as I hoped, and I since found a simpler solution. I now use the entire Quadra adapter, but added a Bowens low profile custom mount to the back of the Quadra adapter, and also eliminate the stand adapter piece entirely. This is by far more solid, and avoids struggling with the lesser Phottix adapter.

Elinchrom deserves much praise for keeping a theatrical follow spot in their line up, which they also sell at a very reasonable price. Both Broncolor and Profoto have sadly long discontinued their own versions of the theatrical zoom spots.

I’m Leaving Soon… And You Decide Which Gear I will Take with Me! – POLL

A Democratic Gear Travel Choice

This Saturday, it is time to make shameless use of this blog and of your time for a very personal reason: my upcoming trip to Rome!

First: I hope not to get sick, since both my brothers, their wifes and kids and my mother are really sick right now. As the only fit person of the family, in these days I’m taking care of all of them as good as I can. Family first… I can handle Rome also with fever ;).

Second: after cancelling my Christmas holidays as well as my winter holidays in February because of the X-H1 rumors and announcement, I decided to risk it again, and booked a travel after Rome, which, if I don’t have to cancel it again, I will eventually let you know about later.

Anyway, now it’s Rome time, 3 days. And I have already asked the FR-community which lenses and cameras I should take with me on my travel.

The feedback was massive, and there are so many different views and opinions, that I’m somehow still a bit confused.

So I decided to make one thing: for the first time, there will be a 100% democratic camera and lens choice. So you guys vote the poll, and whatever wins, I’ll take it with me to Rome.

Do I have personal favorites? You bet!

There is especially one lens I do hope will make it into the top 3. And I do have a favorite camera. But I won’t say it, because I don’t want to influence your vote. I will respect the poll results and take the gear you decide with me.

I will take only one camera 3 lenses. But in order to make your choice even more difficult, I will allow you to select only 2 lenses ;)

The only thing that comes for sure with me for now, is my lovely and light Sirui T-025x Carbon Fiber Tripod.

Any Other Rome Tips?

a FR-readers gave me photographic tips for Prague... which I followed meticulously :)

Of course, also some photographic tips are welcome in the comments.

Last time when I asked for help to photograph Prague, I was astonished by how kind and helpful the FujiRumors community was. Some even draw maps for me and recommended lenses, locations and time (see image above).

Even tips for restaurants in the city center / Trastevere are highly welcome.

I really feel lucky to be part of this community :) Thanks guys!!!!

Will FujiRumors Continue?

Don’t worry… you will continue to get instant and blazing fast news and rumors coverage here on FujiRumors. If necessary, I will take out my computer and blog right under the sistine chapel. Habemus Rumor :) .

Iridient Developer 3.2.2 and X-Transformer 1.0.2 Released: Fujifilm X-H1 and Fujifilm GFX 3:2 mode Support and More

Share

Iridient Developer 3.2.2 and X-Transformer 1.0.2 updates are now available with support for X-H1, X-A5 and X-A20.

Iridient Developer now properly supports the 3:2 mode added in the latest Fujifilm GFX 50S firmware as well.

The Iridient X-Transformer 1.0.2 update fixes an issue with X-H1 lens correction metadata that slipped through with the 1.0.1 update.

It took Iridient Developer a bit longer than Adobe to support the Fujifilm X-H1, because, as Aleksei recently said in here our Fujifilm X-H facebook group, Brian told him:

“The Fujifilm X-H1 has proven to require a lot more work than initially expected as they changed their lens correction metadata format with this new model. Unfortunately Fujifilm does not to supply me with any pre-release cameras or even early access to RAW files for their new models so I have to depend on my users.”
