Fujifilm X-H1 Vs. X-T2 Vs. X-Pro2 Read Noise in DNs versus ISO Setting Results by PhotonsToPhotos

Share

Photons To Photos just published their Read Noise in DNs versus ISO setting measurment of the Fujifilm X-H1.

Almost identical results to the other Fujiiflm X-Trans III cameras. Check them out here.

Bill explains:

“The drop at ISO 800 is where dual conversion gain starts. This is a relatively common technology first proposed by Aptina in their DR-Pix Technology White Paper  and was probably first used in the early Nikon 1 cameras. Dual conversion gain works by lowering Full Well Capacity (FWC) to improve read noise.Bec ause FWC is lower there is a minimum ISO setting at which you can apply the technique.”

Fujifilm Acros 100 Film To Be Discontinued in October 2018, Report Says

Share

Good Bye Acros

Fujifilm keeps up discontinuing their good old film rolls, and in October 2018 it could be time for the (much loved) Acros 100. At least according to reports at casualphotophile (via petapixel).

Fujifilm usually releases official statements, when they are going to discontinue certain film, but so far nothing appeard at the Fujifilm site.

However, given the trend of the last years, I’d not be surprised if even Acros 100 production will be stopped. Sadly I am afraid that news like these will keep up coming, and more films will have to disappear.

There is one film, though, that seems to florish like never before, Instax.
