Fujifilm designer Masazumi Imai participated to the Brainstorm Design conference in Singapore, where he explained what inspired him to design the X-series. You can read the full article at Fortune (thanks Olaf). Here an excerpt:
For Fujifilm design manager Masazumi Imai, cameras are just as much about expressing the spirit of the photographer behind the lens as they are capturing what’s in front of it.
[…] “The X-Series design completely embodies the true essence of the camera,” says Imai. “A design that preserves the good should not be changed.”
[…] The line is iconic because of the way it couples a vintage design feel with cutting edge camera functions.
When designing the X-series, Imai wanted to tap into a childhood memory ubiquitous among photographers: discovering their father’s camera.
“Father used to keep very good camera in his room. He would say, ‘Don’t touch that camera!’” Imai recounts. “That’s the camera I saw when I was a child.”
Imai wanted to capture that wistful longing and translate it into the device’s blueprint. He also wanted to design the camera in a way that appealed to all five senses. The manual dials, the synthetic leather, and the sound the camera makes when taking a photo are all designed in a sensuous way.
And which one is according to you the best looking Fujifilm camera?
Note that I split some camera lines, since I think they introduced significant design changes. For example, the X-E1/2 and the X-E3 are different options in the poll.
Fringer just released firmware update 1.30 for its EF-X smart adapter, which further improves the AF accuracy using the lenses listed below.
They also say that the adapter, which sold like hot cakes, will be in stock again in late March / beginning of April. Full release notes below and at Fringer blog here.
Brian just released Iridient X-Transformer 1.0.1. It adds support for Fujifilm X-H1, X-A5 and X-A20. Iridient Developer 3.2.2 will be out shortly.

Gear talk, pixel peeping, specs, ratings, ergonomics, comparisons… that’s all nice and good, and in fact I pixel peeped really a lot in the last few days, thanks to the lab tests at imaging-resource and dpreview.
Everybody agrees, that there is a slight difference between X-H1 and X-T2.
Some try to analize it rationally, some others try to shitstorm on dpreview, accusing them of faulty tests.
Here on FujiRumors we are much more relaxed. We trust those guys at dpreview, who do such lab tests since ages now. And also Tony Northrup shared with FujiRumors his X-H1 Vs- X-T2 thoughts in the comments to FR here, and he also noticed a difference.
But here is the thing… after heavy pixel peeping, I checked what’s happening at our marvellous Fujifilm X-H facebook group, and I saw some fantastic shots already! And I was reminded, that at the end of the day, also the X-H1 is nothing but a tool that helps us to express our creativity and our passion.
So I thought it’s high time to focus again on the artistic and creative aspect of photography (which came way too short on FR lately), and I decided to share 4 images from the group. I’m sure you will love them just as much as I do.
Feel free to join the group, not only if you are interested in the more technical aspects of the Fujifilm X-H1, but also to simply enjoy images.

First outing with the X-H1 which arrived at lunch time today.
I couldn’t be more thrilled with this camera …
The XT-2 is excellent but this new camera is such a step up, the focussing speed is so stunning
