Laowa lenses are made by the Chinese manufacturer Venus Optics, but as already highlighted by TheCameraStoreTV in their Best/Worst 2017 epsiode, we see more and more quality products coming from China, and TCSTV specifically mentions Laowa lenses amongst those Chinese quality products.

Fujifilm X-H1

Hey all,

just a quick rumor to inform you that the Fujifilm X-H1 will ship in March. At least that’s the plan. I mean, I love Fujifilm, but we have seen them too often in the past ship their gear later than expected. Let’s hope that this time they will get it right.

As we already told you, the Fujifilm X-H1 announcement will be on the 15th of February (14th of February in San Franciso, around midnight in New York).

Of course there will be an epic LIVE BLOGGING here on FujiRumors ;) .

Prior to the Fujifilm X-H1, Fujifilm will announce the X-A5 and XC15-45 on January 31.

Fujifilm named Thomson Reuters 2018 Top 100 Global Technology Leaders… and the Road to No.1 in Premium Mirrorless Camera Market

Share

Fujifilm has been named (again) amongst the 2018 Top 100 global technology leaders by Thomson Reuters.

In the camera segment, Fujifilm was indeed innovative, by launching a new line of mirrorless medium format cameras with the Fujifilm GFX 50S, that has all the potential to become a game changer in the industry, especially once the Fujifilm GFX 100S hits the market, with its new 8K capable 100MP BSI sensor and faster sensor readout. And also an affordable rangefinder version is coming, the Fujifilm GFX 50R.

On the APS-C front, the current effort is set to give customers a wider range of camera body offers, by adding for example the Fujifilm X-H1 to the lineup, which will have IBIS and is more oriented towards video shooters, as well as giving “older” cameras a refresh, first and foremost the Fujifilm X-T3 by the end of 2018.

And lenses… lots of lenses for both, ASP-C and MF line, as we reported here.

The goal of this huge effort is very humbly described in Fujifilm’s medium-term management plan Vision 2019: “work toward capturing No.1 market share in the premium mirrorless camera market” within March 2020.

An incredibly ambitious goal, but as we can see, Fujifilm has lots of great stuff in the pipeline for 2018/2019, that has all been rumored on FujiRumors already (+ some surprises I am sure ;) )

I am ready to cover Fujifilm’s rise to camera-world domination here on FujiRumors…

… and if you want, you can follow this journey with me, by joining us also on Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter.

Here is a list of some stuff, we can expect, but there will be more…

stay tuned… we are going to have fun :)

Cascable Remote Control App Update introduces Shutter Robot Recipes… And Time for Fujifilm to Redesign their Camera Remote App!

Share

** thanks to VatArt Photo for sharing ***

Cascable, a small Swedish company working on tools for the modern photographer, released an update to their iOS photography app Cascable that introduces Shutter Robot Recipes — a photography automation tool available on mobile platforms.

Introducing Shutter Robot Recipes! Recipes are an extension to our Shutter Robot feature that allow you to automate your camera in exactly the way you want. Using the Recipes Editor, you assemble a series of camera setting adjustments and shutter triggers together in whichever way you’d like. Once you’ve constructed the perfect recipe, Cascable’s Shutter Robot can run it against any camera that supports the features the recipe uses.

Shutter Robot Recipes works with all of Cascable’s supported cameras and allow complete freedom and creativity when building time-lapse, exposure bracket sequence, or any other series of shots you can think of. You can find out more about the Recipes feature at cascable.se/ios/recipes.

Keep in mind that it does NOT support Fujifilm RAW files, only JPEG. I have asked Cascable about it and they told me:

“Unfortunately, Fujifilm cameras won’t allow access to RAW images over WiFi. If you have your camera set to RAW or RAW+JPEG before connecting, RAW images will be created but you won’t be able to see them through Cascable. We plan to add support for the X-T2’s improved wireless tethering mode later in the year, which should allow access to RAW images for that camera.”

All in all it looks like a lovely app, and definitely something Fujifilm should take as a reference for their own Camera Remote App, which could really need a redesign and improvement.

And btw, I have tested the new geotagging via bluetooth on the Camera Remote app, and I have shared some tips to make it work best here.

Fujifilm X-T3 no IBIS

According to the first feedback from our sources, the Fujifilm X-T3 will not have IBIS.

So, for now, IBIS seems to be a feature reserved for the Fujifilm X-H1, which will be announced on February 15 – full rumored X-H1 specs here.

The Fujifilm X-T3 will be announced around photokina 2018 (probably a bit earlier) and have a new X-Trans sensor with less than 30 Megapixel and a new processor – this and more details in this article.

IBIS, Good or Bad… or Both? We have written comprehensively about it here.

Stay tuned on FujiRumors via Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter to follow the Fujifilm X-T3 rumor novel.
