Fujinon XF 8mm F2.8, XF 10mm F2.8 and XF 15mm F2.8 Patents Spotted

New Fujifilm patents surfaced on the web. They are for the following Fujinon lenses:

  • Fujinon XF 8mm f/2.8
  • Fujinon XF 10mm f/2.8
  • Fujinon XF 15mm f/2.8

Probably just variation of patents shared in the last 10+ years, such as:

The patents have been spotted by the Japanese website asobinet.

And remember, Fujifilm has also patented this foldable smartphone, so that one has to come soon, too :).

More seriously: Fujifilm recently said they have 10 lenses currently under study. Look up at those to see a more realistic list of lenses that might come at some point.

Sigma Japan Suspends Orders for Entire DC DN Lens Lineup

Sigma Japan just announced the suspension of orders for the following DC DN APS-C lenses:

So the entire APS-C lineup orders are on hold in Japan. I don’t know if this is valid for the rest of the world too, but for now they seem to be still available for order at stores like BHphoto.

The motivation they give is strange: the demand exceeds Sigma’s expectations.

So I wonder what happened. If all of a sudden demand for Sigma APS-C lenses rose strongly, or if maybe Sigma’s production capacity dropped for reasons we do not know.

Sigma 20mm f/1.4 Patent Spotted (and 23mmF1.4)

The patent for the Sigma 20mm f/1.4 lens (as well as 23mmF1.4) has been spotted by the Japanese website Asobinet here.

This is just a variation of what would ultimately become the Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN, so there are close to zero chances that Sigma will release also the Sigma 20mm f/1.4.

The Viltrox 56mm f/1.7 AF is one of the lenses on the Viltrox roadmap that will come this year also for Fujifilm X mount. And we already have reported about the Viltrox 56mm f/1.7 in the past (leaked images included):

No info yet about pricing and release date.

Viltrox Lens Roadmap 2024 Released

A couple of times a year, Viltrox releases a lens roadmap. And now we got the first one for 2024.

So far nothing surprising, as these are lenses that have already been teased since a long time and in some cases we could also see the first images of those lenses.

In the past, Viltrox has also teased zoom lenses coming, but so far they have not added any on the roadmap.

Meike 55mm f/1.4 X Autofocus Lens for Fujifilm X Mount Hands On Images

We already talked a couple of times last year about the Meike 55mm f/1.4 X for Fujifilm X.

We shared the first hands on images here and additional specs and images here.

Now the lens seems about to come, as a first hands on video appeared on the Chinese social media account 独立摄影师联合会 (which I share screenshots of in this article) and you can see the video here. Along with the video they write:
