Samyang AF 75mm f/1.8 X Series Cameras Compatibility List (Not for All X Cameras)

Samyang has announced the lovely and compact Samyang AF 75mm f/1.8 X earlier today

But attention: while it is an X mount autofocus lens, it won’t work with all X series cameras.

Samyang says it is will work with X-Trans cameras, but not with Fuji’s Bayer cameras (X-T***, X-A*, X-A** lines).

But that’s not entirely correct, as not all X-Trans cameras are actually compatible. In fact, the X-Trans Fujifilm X-M1 is also not on the list of compatible cameras.

Maybe it would be more correct to say: all the cameras not made by Fujifilm (hence the ones outsourced to the Xacti Corporation), will not worked with the new Samyang.

So I’ll do it today… I grabbed a large beer, took a deep breath, and worked to organise the wishes I have received over the last few months in this article.

So… down below it is: the FR-readers wishlist roundup

The Advantage of APS-C over Full Frame… or How to Instantly Become the Most Hated Guy on Photography Forums ;)

Italian professional photographer Andrea Jump Cimini is a man on a mission: become the most hated guy on photography forums ;).

So how is he going to achieve that?

Well, by telling you which advantages APS-C has over Full Frame especially for event photography in low light.

With 2,700 subscribers only (but quickly and well deserved growing), Sony and Canon probably still did not fly that guy around at fancy and fun events nor spoil him by giving him pre-production gear to test. So, out of the control of big corporation he speaks something rare to find these days: his honest and un-biased opinion ;).

The video is Italian, so if you understand Italian, watch the video below. If not, we have a summary for you guys.

Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 II Additional Specs: 67mm Filter Size, Weather Resistant and No Linear Motor

When Fujifilm started to release the newest f/1.4 lens trinity, they all got the weather sealing, a new optical design to resolve the 40MP of the X-H2 and X-T5 and they also got a linear motor for blazing fast autofocus.

Well, according to our trusted sources, the Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 II will follow that path, but not completely.

We got told this by trusted sources:

So what the XF56mmF1.2 II will lack over the the latest f/1.4 lenses is the linear motor.

We remind you that the current version uses DC coreless motor (the smallest motor). Stepping motors are better but bigger. So I wonder (not rumor) if this version has a stepping motor.

Before we make any judgment on AF, let’s wait for the real world reports, which will all drop on September 8 and we will cover live here on FujiRumors
