Fujifilm X-T3 Vs. X-T2 High ISO Jpeg Comparison, Canon and Nikon Take a Hit, X-Trans 3 Vs X-Trans 4 Pixel Comparison & More

Fujifilm X-T3 Roundup

If the Canon EOS R and Nikon Z series earned quite some flack on the internet, quite the opposite is true for the Fujifilm X-T3, and even guys, who used to cirtique Fujifilm quite hard and never recommended to buy Fujifilm like Gerald (link below), now say that with the X-T3 changed everything. He has one for testing, and is evidently blown away.

This camera has one equation that simply fits: it’s great value for money! So let’s check out the next bunch of X-T3 first looks.

We already shared a dedicated X-T3 eye/face detection article earlier today. Now let’s see what else we can learn about the Fujifilm X-T3.

X-T3 Review (Pixel Peeping Vs. X-T2 included)

Bjorn as published a 2 part review of the Fujifilm X-T3 (part 1part 2). The review also includes a high ISO comparison between the X-T2 and X-T3. JPEG only, since nobody supports the RAW files yet. So we are definitely far from being able to take any conclusions, but it’s interesting to see anyway.

Bjorn writes:

I must admit that I was expecting a larger difference between the two cameras when it comes to high ISO performance, especially since it is using the new Backside illuminated sensor (BSI). Realistically, there is about a one stop advantage for the X-T3 compared to the X-T2. I have no problem shooting at ISO 6400 and will bump it up to 12800 if needed. Compared to the X-T1 the difference is more pronounced and is closer to two stops better low light performance. For a cropped sensor camera, this is well within the ballpark.”

FUJIFILM Should NOT go FULL FRAME you Say + Advantages of APS-C (and MF)

Specs are Fun, but don’t let them take Control over You: Keep up Watching at the (Photography) World primarily Artistically, rather than Technically

You Don’t Want Full Frame Fujifilm

Here are the results of the poll we launch a few days ago here.

77% of you voted that you don’t want a Full Frame interchangeable line by Fujifilm.

  • 43% don’t want FF at all
  • 19% don’t want FF in MILC, but they would like an FF Fujifilm X200
  • 15% don’t want FF, but a APS-H sensor that is still compatible with existing mount and lenses

So basically for 62% of you there is no need to have FF on Fuji’s MILC lineup, and my impression is that those, who vote for APS-H, care most about compatibility with existing lenses, hence, if APS-H is not possible, they’d rather prefer to keep APS-C than go FF  and invest all over again in a new system.

Only 12% of FR-readers are Pro full frame, whereas other 6% voted for the option to put a FF sensor in the G mount, making the GFX a hybrid system.

So, if Fujifilm listens, than at least here on FR the advice is clear: continue to improve, where you are already the best in the market, APS-C and Medium Format, and avoid the FF slaughter between Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic and maybe even Olympus.

LEAKED: First Fujifilm X-T3 Images

Fujifilm X-T3

Nokishita just leaked the first Fujiflm X-T3 images.

As we told you, it looks like X-T2 with minor changes but same button layout. We can see:

  • the top dials are thinner again, like on X-H1
  • there is ISO 160, as we already told you
  • a little bit bigger grip
  • more protruding EVF
  • comes in silver
  • as pointed out by a FR-reader, the buttons seems slightly more protruding than those on X-T2

As rumored here on Fujirumors, announcement is on September 6.
