77% of you voted that you don’t want a Full Frame interchangeable line by Fujifilm.
43% don’t want FF at all
19% don’t want FF in MILC, but they would like an FF Fujifilm X200
15% don’t want FF, but a APS-H sensor that is still compatible with existing mount and lenses
So basically for 62% of you there is no need to have FF on Fuji’s MILC lineup, and my impression is that those, who vote for APS-H, care most about compatibility with existing lenses, hence, if APS-H is not possible, they’d rather prefer to keep APS-C than go FF and invest all over again in a new system.
Only 12% of FR-readers are Pro full frame, whereas other 6% voted for the option to put a FF sensor in the G mount, making the GFX a hybrid system.
So, if Fujifilm listens, than at least here on FR the advice is clear: continue to improve, where you are already the best in the market, APS-C and Medium Format, and avoid the FF slaughter between Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic and maybe even Olympus.
Confused by all the rumors? Then let’s put some order into the big buzz :)
So first I’ll give you an accurate timeline and then, down below, the detailed rumors with reliabily rating and working link to every single rumor.
Also consider…. we are working on Fujifilm X-Pro3, X200 and all other rumors, but we will share only once we have something more reliable in our hands. Hence, don’t panic if you don’t see your dream camera listed below. It does not necessarily mean it won’t come, but only that for now we have no solid rumor about it share.
According to a new source, the Fujinon XF 8-16mm F2.8 WR will have a new and improved flare control.
I guess it will probably use the same new “Anti-Reflection Coating” that we will find in the XF 200mm F2, and that will become standard in most of future Fujinon XF lenses.
We could see some mock-ups of the XF8-16 already in the past. I share them for you again here:
Many Fujifilm X and GFX shooters earn their bread and butter with Fujifilm cameras, and many of those are also extremely successful in their specific genre.
For example, there are Fujifilm shooters, who won prestigeous awards, such as…
some won the world wildlife photography award (story here)
some made the cover of the TIME magazine (story here)
some won the World Photography Arts&Culture Award 2015 (story here)
some won the First Prize of the World Press Photo Category “Stories (stroy here)
some made the front page of the Wall Street Journal (story here)
Fuji X was good enough for God’s work (story here)
some captured America’s most hated man (story here)
some distracted a French presidential candidate during his interview (story here)
and more…
You also probably know Kevin Mullins, one of the top wedding photographers globally speaking, who shoots exclusively with Fujifilm X series camera.
The list could go on and on (and I apologize for all those I didn’t mention here), but today it’s about Markus Klinko, a photographer, who saw his work displayed at Times Square in New York, who photographed top celebrities like Beyoncé (btw, Beyoncé shoots Fujifilm X100s, as you can see her here) and David Bowie.
Markus is also a good friend of FujiRumors, and he has also contributed with several articles on Fujirumors.com.
Today we have the pleasure to dedicate our “Behind the X gear” episode to our friend Markus Klinko. Enjoy :)
Fujifilm announces firmware updates for X-H1, X-T2, X-Pro2, X-E3 and X100F coming soon
Complimentary upgrades will provide new functions including a new PDAF algorithm, Flicker Reduction and Select/Create Folder, and additional compatibility of the newly introduced MKX18-55mmT2.9 and MKX50-135mmT2.9 lenses.
2 days ago here on FujiRumors we broke the news, that 6 Fujifilm cameras will get a firmware update soon. Included in our list was also the Fujifilm X100F.
The day after, nokishita leaked the details of the updates, but the Fujifilm X100F was not included in the list.
Just now, though, nokishita updated the list with the X100F firmware. Here are the details of the update
X100F Firmware Ver.2.10 -due April, 2018 Enlarged and customizable indicators or information
The upgrade allows users to enlarge indicators and information in the viewfinder and/or LCD monitor. This upgrade will also enable users to customize the location of where the information is shown on the display.
The X100F firmware can be considered minor, especially compared to the other upcoming massive updates. But Fujifilm notoriously never covers the X100 line with lots of Kaizen love, even though it was the original X100 to start all the “Kaizen-buzz” back in the days.
But with the growing number of camera models, Fujifilm had to make decisions which cameras they can keep up covering with Kaizen love, and which one not… and the X100 line had to be sacrificed.
If you want to see what the firmware update details of the Fujifilm GFX 50S, X-E3, X-T2, X-Pro2 and X-H1, check out this post.
Also, I notice many X-T20 owners now panic, because the X-T20 is not mentioned in the list. But keep in mind these are only announcements of upcoming firmware updates. And the one for the X-T20 has already been announced (and it’s massive!). That’s why it is not included in the list.
The X-T20 firmware will come, according to Fujifilm, in early April… so it can’t be that long anymore ;)
Combining a robust, durable body with superior image quality and easy operation, the FUJIFILM X-H1 is the firstcamera in the series to include 5-axis 5.5 stops* in-body image stabilization (IBIS), and the new ETERNA Film Simulation feature, for outstanding video reproduction.
More images of the Fujinon XC 15-45 and X-A20 leaked at nokishita.
Down below again the main specs of XC 15-45, X-A5 and X-A20 as well as more images
The size of the X-A10 is identical to the one of the X-A20, so we can make a nice comparison between the XC16-50 and XC15-45. But it’s no surprise, because here on FR we already showed you weeks ago here the exact size of the lens, and the latest leak just confirms it ;)
The Fujinon XC15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ OIS will be bigger than Sony’s Power Zoom solution, the Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6, but I guess that Fujifilm tried to find the sweet spot between compact size and image quality.
The size of 16-50 and 18 on X-A3 are made using camerasize.com. FujiRumors just added an empty X-A3 body, and added a line with the size of the XC15-45.
As you can see, the XC 15-45 will be much closer in size to the pancake XF18mmF2 than to the Fujinon XC16-50. I’d say it will have roughly the size of the Fujinon XF35mmF2 WR. Only the XF18mmF2 and the XF27mmF2.8 will be smaller in the Fujinon XF and XC world.
The Fujinon XC15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 will be bigger than Sony’s Power Zoom solution, the Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6, but I guess that Fujifilm tried to find the sweet spot between compact size and image quality.
Given the fact that we now have a close estimate of the final XC15-45 size, I will launch again the poll, if you are interested to buy it or not.
