Fujifilm X-T2 Vs. X-T1 Size Comparison

Fujifilm X-T2 Vs. X-T1 Size Comparison

The trusted Japanese Source promised it yesterday, and here is the image of the Fujifilm X-T2 Vs. X-T1 Size Comparison.

You can see that, the Fujifilm X-T2 is slightly bigger than the Fujifilm X-T1.

Since the Fujifilm X-T2 is 4K capable (confirmed by Fuji Manager), a slightly larger body could facilitate heat dissipation. This is just one of the advantages of the Fujifilm X-T2. For X-Pro2 Lovers, I wrote also the 10 Reasons Why the Fujifilm X-Pro2 might still be the Better Choice over the Fujifilm X-T2!

Fujfilm organized worldwide events on July 7, which is very likely the X-T2 announcement date (USA VIP event and EU Press Conference)

A very great many ‘togs seem to protest at the idea of cat photos…

When the Fujifilm X-Pro2 finally landed, the internet wags quipped that the Fujifilm X-Pro1 was now only good for “cat shots and infrared conversion”

:) I did have to laugh

The thing is…

I love cats!

I realise that some find them aloof, greedy and self centred. But animals didn’t ask to be domesticated, they didn’t sign up to some mutually exclusive deal, you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. Animals exist in our domesticated world because we have use for them, or because we tolerate them.

But many large urban areas have stray animals, perhaps once a pet, perhaps the offspring of a pet. Strays are NOT a Porto problem, they’re not a London problem or a Rome problem or a anywhere problem, they’re a humanistic problem.

Strays say something about our own species; and it’s not nice. Animals stuck in a neither world of not being part of human existence nor being free of it. They exist in this space because of the human world and despite the human world.

When we take a pet, we create a dependant. When we break that bond, we create a shadow.

These are not cutesy kitties, they could be… they have the capacity, but these are street creatures, discarded and dirty. Left to eek out an existence on whatever they can get.

I love cats.

And when I look into the eyes of these strays I see the struggle they’ve endured and their defiance in never giving up. This isn’t some sort of aloof detachment. This is the primordial square root of survival. Even the little indoors only kitty curled up on your bed has this ability.

These cats are not pets… To me, they’re as valid street subjects as anything else in the genre, after all, if we say that ‘street’ is the documentary of the humanistic world, then what tells our story more than the problems we create and the things we discard?

All these shot are taken with the X-Pro1 and X-T1.

Both bodies soon only to be suitable for infrared conversion, and cat shots. Perhaps even infrared cat shots :)

I realise that you may not enjoy cat shots… But hopefully you’ve seen a different side of the kitty, one which is perhaps a bit more engaging than a pampered fat cat chasing a toy or lapping up some milk…

If it’s of interest, you can see more of my work on the links below.

Warm regards
Adam

Fujifilm X-T2 :: 11fps Autofocus Continuous Shooting in Turbo Boost Mode!

Tilt Two

Fujifilm X-T2 CH Autofocus Boost

Just yesterday I told you that the Fujifilm X-T2 will have a fast EVF refresh rate of 100fps in turbo boost mode.

Well, a trusted source told me that this is not all: in “boost” mode (selectable on the X-T2 Vertical Battery Grip), the Fujifilm X-T2 will also shoot at 11 frames per second in Continuous High Autofocus (the X-Pro2 has a maximum frame rate of 8pfs with live view)!

I know you have big doubts about the battery life. So I remind you that Fujifilm’s new vertical battery grip will take 2 batteries. Of course, without battery grip, the Fujifilm X-T2 will shoot at “only” 8fps, just like the X-Pro2 and use just the in-camera battery.

If you ask me, all this sounds very exciting… on paper! But X-shooters are often known to look less at the specs and more on the substance. So no matter which specs I share, we will all wait for some hands on experiences with this camera to see how good all these “on paper features” really work.

And I tell you… all the Fujifilm X-T2 First Looks will start hitting the web on July 7! And I’m here, ready for the Live Blogging! Don’t miss anything, and follow FR on Facebook and Twitter.

Fujifilm X-T2 Turbo Boost :: EVF with Amazing 100 fps (!!!) Refresh Rate !

Tilt Two

RUMOR

Just 2 weeks ago, Fuji Guy Billy said here:

The human eye recognizes the difference in motion about 120 fps. We are actually at 85fps [X-Pro2], so very very close. […] And the processing power is actually already there in this camera to eventually even reach 120fps!

Read more at “X-Pro2 is Over-Engineered. A Lot of Potential Not Harnessed yet! Firmware Improvements Coming

Well, it seems that the Fujifilm X-T2 is the first step to get closer to that 120fps. In fact, according to a trusted source, the Fujifilm X-T2 will have the ability to boost the EVF refresh rate to 100fps!

LOVE LETTER to the Unborn FUJIFILM X-E3… Please, Fuji, Keep the X-E Line Alive!!! :: Multiple POLLS!

ll

*Fujifilm Reads You!
See the original FujiRumors Poll, that Fujfiilm used in an official presentation to the Press

LOVE LETTER TO THE X-E3

This blog post just comes straight out of my heart. It’s a declaration of love to the Fujifilm X-E series… such a wonderful camera line, that might have no future in Fuji’s plans. I said *might*, since there is still a tiny weeny bit of hope, that Fujifilm could eventually decide to keep the series alive.

So let’s try to convince Fujifilm not to drop the X-E line… and you know they read our comments and feedback every day. Don’t believe me, see by yourself ;).

WHY THE X-E3 IS PERFECT FOR ME (AND YOU ?)

I owned an X-E1 (stolen in Greece), loved my X-E2 (destroyed in a river) and finally bought an X-T1, because I found a good second-hand deal on it and I was curious about it (it’s my first camera ever with a tilt screen and such a huge EVF).

But as much as I love my X-T1 (it’s the best looking dslr-styled digital camera on the planet), what I really desire is a rangefinder alike camera.

Ok, I hear you saying: just get the X-Pro2! Oh yes, it’s the camera of my forbidden dreams… but at the end of the day I take a look at my bank account and I can understand, why it’s impossible to convince my Girlfriend to get one.

But, dear Fujifilm, give me an affordable X-Pro2 – called X-E3 – and you can count me in!

NO X-E3 IS A BIG MISTAKE

Ok, I’m a teacher, not a marketing guru. But as the X-shooter behind the largest Fuji X Series related website on the web, I can sometimes intercept the desires of the Fuji X community. And what I can say, is that I get many emails asking me about the X-E3. There are even X-shooters, who created X-E3 Concepts here and made wish lists here.

I believe, dear Managers at the Fujifilm Head-Quarter, that there is a market out there for the X-E3…. and it might be even bigger you think. A market that’s for sure bigger than the one of the already discountinued X30 (and not because the X40 is coming) and the Fujifilm X70 (whose pre-orders were that low, that Fuji changed its price during the pre-order period)! – Read also Why the X70?.

THE POLLS

Of course I’m Mr. Nobody. That’s just my impression. I could be plain wrong. But there is one thing I can do: launch a Poll and verify if my impression is right. Is there a market for the X-E3 out there?

It’s time to see how big the interest for the X-E3 really is amongst FR-readers and let Fujifilm know about it.

But how can you vote about a camera that does not exist? Well, we just will imagine the following things:

  1. The X-E3 will have the same core specs of the X-Pro2 and X-T2 (X-Processor Pro, X-TransIII, Same AF-speed, same IQ….)
  2. Price range of the X-T10/X-T20
  3. X-E3 will have a tilt screen
  4. no weather sealing, like the X-T10 line… makes the camera cheaper
  5. 1 SD-card slot

Keep that in mind, before you drop your vote.

guest post by Jon Macapodi – website

My name is Jon Macapodi, I’m a Fuji shooter and work as a freelance fashion photographer in New York City.  You can view my work on my website.

When I started doing this full-time about six years ago, I was fully entrenched in the Nikon system. My first experience with Fuji was with an [shoplink 46368 ebay]S5 Pro[/shoplink] I had borrowed, and it left an impression that in some ways still ring true today, “Unparalleled colors and skintones, quirky operation.” After that, based on my love for Fuji’s color science, I purchased a used X10 as a “day-off” camera. Immediately I fell in love with the straight out of camera jpegs, and even the aforementioned quirkiness (in this case, the super high dynamic range pixel-binning party trick of the X10). I began using the X10 for some personal work, then actual work, when the technical limitations of the camera wouldn’t interfere with the creative goals or requirements of the shoot.

I shot heavily with the X10 for about a year alongside my Nikons, and it was probably the most influential year for my work from an artistic standpoint: the inherent limitations as well as strengths of the X10 really pushed me to produce and become a better portrait photographer and deepen my creative vision for women’s fashion without relying on the visual “crutch” of full-frame DOF on f/1.4 glass.

I traded in my X10 for the X100S upon release and it was the death-knell for Nikon in my camera closet.

Fast forward to today, and I’m now fully invested in the X system, with an X100T + TCL, X-T1, X-Pro2, and the 16mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4, 56mm f/1.2, and 90mm f/2 and the Rokinon 135mm f2 (I really wish Fuji made one of these…). For the longest time I was holding onto my D800 and some glass for occasional video booking, but once I saw the quality, color, and undeniable “Fuji Magic™” present in the video files of the X-Pro2 I gladly sold what the remainder of my Nikon collection.

Today’s Fuji’s are still not without occasional “quirky operation” moments (especially as a video tool), but the X-Pro2 particularly is the most enjoyable and complete photography tool I’ve ever worked with, and it continues the tradition of the X10 as a catalyst for creativity in my work in women’s fashion.

Here’s are some samples from a shoot this past week, including a short fashion film shot on the X-Pro2. Credits: Claudia Todman @ RE:QUEST Model Management, styled & shot by Jon Macapodi, beauty by Claire Beevers @ Smith & Brit.

Fujifilm XF 80mm Macro Currently Planed without OIS! – Design not Final yet

8-16

I told you back here, that Fuji will make an XF80mm macro lens instead of the 120mm (that is currently still listed in the roadmap).

Well, according to a trusted FR-source, at the current stage, Fujifilm does not plan to add OIS (optical image stabilization) to the 80mm. The source adds however, that the design is not final yet.

I’m aware that every long-term rumor I share (like the X-Pro1s (see official protoype), X70 in 2013 and much more) that was actually correct at the time of sharing, but did not materialize because Fuji changed plans, will lead to a shitstorm on FR. There are quite some haters out there. But I believe my job here is not to wait the last few days before an official announcement to share the rumors (the only way, for me, to be 100% accurate… now it’s just 90% ;) ). My job is to inform you about Fuji’s plans anytime, as long as I consider the rumors plausible… and, if possible, update you as soon as possible if Fuji changes plans again.

So I’ll keep up sharing anytime… but take long-term rumors always with a grain of salt.

cheers
