Fujifilm GFX100 with X-Trans Sensor? These Fujifilm Slides Show 100 Megapixel X-Trans IV Sensor for Best 4K Results
X Trans Fujifilm GFX100?
The following Fujifilm slides have been sent to me (thanks), and they show what evidently is a Fujifilm X-Trans IV sensor with 101 megapixel for improved 4K video performance.
It’s called X-Trans IV, because it is based on the same sensor architecture of the Fujifilm X-T3 / X-T30, just 4 times bigger.
Is Fujifilm planing a Fujifilm GFX100 with X-Trans coming for best 4K video performance?
Let’s go through the slides (that you can see at the bottom of this post):
Sony launches A7rIV and Says it Rivals Medium Format Image Quality – Signs of Confidence or Nervousness?
Sony launched the Sony A7rIV. You can read the facts and see the live stream again here.
It has a 61 MP full frame sensor, that offers 26 MP in APS-C crop mode. Anyone knows an APS-C Fuji camera with 26 MP out there? It’s all the same sensor wafer, just cut in differnt sizes for X-T3 (26 MP), A7rIV (61 MP) and GFX100 (102 MP).
The Sony A7rIV is a very fine camera, and I know at least one guy, who won’t be able to resist the temptation of buying it.
But one thing really grabbed my attention during the official presentation: the regular reference to medium format image quality.
The first reference comes from a Japanese Sony manager, who says:

Fujifilm GFX 100 Reviews and Change Your Factory Default Menu Settings
Nick Schreger has published a video, showing a couple of Fujifilm GFX100 factory settings that, according to him, don’t always make much sense, and he recommends you to change them.
The video is in German, so down below his setting advices in English.
- change FINE to RAW+SUPER FINE
- change UNCOMPRESSED RAW to COMPRESSED RAW
- change sRGB to Adobe RGB
- enable FOCUS PEAKING
- set INSTANT AF SETTING to AF-C (so you have AF-S with single press and AF-C if you keep pressed)
- set shutter type to MECHANICAL SHUTTER only
- If you work with flash in dark studio, deactivate Preview exp/wb in manual mode
- set NATURAL LIVE VIEW to ON
- Activate histogram and live view highlight alert
- Set Shoot without Card to OFF
- set AUTO POWER OFF to 5 minutes (default is 2 minutes)
- set high performance mode ON
Do you agree with this list? And which changes did you make to your Fujifilm default menu settings?
