Fujifilm GFX100 First Looks: 95% Eye Detection Success Rate, Great Skin Tones and $10,000 is Actually a Good Price

Fujifilm GFX100 Hands On Reviews

Matt Granger went hands on with the Fujifilm GFX100.

He starts by saying that he does not get any attention by Fujifilm, and was not invited to Japan for the launch. So he needed to wait for the Fujifilm GFX100 to be displayed at a photography fair, and all he could do is to talk to Fuji reps there and go only shortly hands on with the camera. So what he can share for now is only a quick first look.

Other major youtube channels also complaint about Fujifilm not flying them to exclusive events around the world (which is what Sony does all the time). If this is good or bad, I leave the judgement to you.

FUJINON Premista PL Mount Cine Lenses Cover Fujifilm GFX sensor

Michael Bulbenko from Fujifilm said in an interview (video below) that the recently introduced PL-mount (and super expensive) Fujinon Premista 28-100mm T2.9 and Fujinon Premista 80-250mm T2.9-3.5 cover the Fujifilm GFX100 sensor.

Hence, you can use them with a PL to G mount adapter.

The Fujifilm manager also said, that they do not plan to release a G mount version of their Fujinon Premista lenses.

While talking about the Fujifilm GFX100 color reproduction, Michael says: “as weired as it sounds, we are a film company, so we know how to get colors right“. I like that!

FujiRumors already told you that the same guy, who developed the Velvia film, has been involved also in the Velvia digital film simulation development.

Fujifilm Announces New Neopan ACROS 100 II Film – Shipping Fall 2019

Neopan ACROS 100 II

Over the last few years, FujiRumors had to sadly document how Fujifilm was discontinuing one film after another, and raising price on others.

For Acros 100 lovers, the bad news came back in April 2018, when Fujifilm officially announced they will discontinue this much-loved film.

Hope came a couple of months later, when the news arose here, that Fujifilm was considering to bring back Acros 100.

Now Fujifilm finally announced, that they will bring back Acros 100 in fall 2019.

This is made possible, because Fujifilm developed a new Acros 100 II film, by replacing some materials that became difficult to obtain and by adapting the manufacturing process to the new material.

I do hope that Fujifilm can bring back other discontinued film by using new technology and materials, too.

Fujifilm X-H1: an Unloved Child, FujiRumors’ New Temptation… and WOW!

I tell you this:

If I wasn’t the rangefinder lover that I am, and I’d had to buy a DSLR styled mirrorless Fujifilm camera today, I’d not pick the Fuji X-T3, not even the Fujifilm X-T30!

Nope, I’d go all in with the Fujifilm X-H1.

And in fact, for two reasons I might explain in a future article, in these days I played with the thought, to get a Fujifilm X-H1.

And honestly, at THAT Price to me it’s such a steal!

I know there is the X-T3 out there, but the X-H1 autofocus is actually pretty fast, certainly more than fast enough for my needs. The image quality is just as lovely as on my Fujifilm X-E3. The build quality just screams “made in Japan” from every angle of the camera. It has IBIS. And some of my longer lenses would certainly balance better on the X-H1 than on my X-E3 or even X-T1.

So I am officially tempted, especially considering that the Fujifilm X-H2 is still far away.

Because in these days something happened, but I want to come down a bit before and see how all this ends, or it would end up in a rant. And today it’s weekend. My nephew is coming soon to my home. And I want to come down and be in good mood :).

So let’s stop it here and go back to the Fujifilm X-H1.

Let’s give some love to a camera, that would definitely deserve much more success than it has, thanks to a dedicated X-H1 roundup.
