LEAKED: First Images of Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 PRO XF (vs Viltrox 75mm f/1.2)

When Viltrox announced they’d launch the Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 Pro AF X mount lens in Q2 of 2023, you guys asked me especially one question: how big will this lens be?

So I did what I have to do: try to answer your questions.

And today we can give you a very accurate answer: we can share the very first images of the Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 XF Pro autofocus lens.

And not only that, we can also share them side by side with the new Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 PRO XF lens.

Look, I am huge fan of the 27mm APS-C focal length and I own this 27mm XF lens as well as this 27mm X mount lens already.

But as much as I love the pancake size and the terrific portability of those lenses, I would love to have a very fast 27mm alternative to those lenses. And the Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 seems to be just that.

Sure, it is not the smallest lens out there, but it is still smaller than the other PRO badged lens offers for the X mount, the Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 XF PRO. And quite frankly, if it matches the price and performance of the 75mm f/1.2, then this lens is very high on my wishlist.

Understanding Fujifilm Firmware for Camera to Cloud Frame.io

Fujifilm has released the long awaited firmware that adds Frame.io Camera to Cloud support for the Fujifilm X-H2 and Fujifilm X-H2s (and also fixes a few bugs).

You can check out all the details in this article.

Now Fujifilm USA has published a video where they guide you through this new feature and you can see the video above.

RUMOR: Fujifilm GFX100 Replacement is Next GFX Camera coming in 2023 (Trusted Source)

The Rumor

Many asked me if a new Fujifilm GFX camera would come in 2023.

Well, yes, definitely!

In fact, trusted sources (THANKS) told us that the next Fujifilm GFX camera to come will be the replacement to the Fujifilm GFX100.

So, not the replacement to GFX100S, or the GFX50R or anything else. What we will get is the successor to the Fujifilm GFX100.

That’s 100% sure and solid!

You know I’d never trick you with fake rumors to make traffic. I simply respect you guys too much to do that.

The GFX100

The Fujifilm GFX100 was launched back in 2019 and it was definitely revolutionary for its time, with a backside illuminated 102 megapixel sensor and IBIS, giving medium format speed and flexibility unseen until then in the digital medium format world.

I did go hands on with the Fujifilm GFX100, but these are the three main reasons I did not buy it:

  1. too expensive
  2. too big
  3. I didn’t find it intuitive to use. I much prefer Fujifilm cameras with dedicated dials or at least dedicated PSAM dial.

Fujifilm fixed all these three issues two years later with the Fujifilm GFX100S, a camera that I now own and enjoy using especially for landscape photography but also to document family life.

Personally I’d have looked more forward to a Fujifilm GFX100S with 5th generation goodness or a GFX100R. But I know also the Fujifilm GFX100 has its loyal fellowship and I am working on all the details.

So definitely stay tuned on FujiRumors if you want to know more about it.

Fujifilm X-Pro4 Fantasies – Your Dreams Here!

When I shared my video (and partially rant) about the Fujifilm X-E4 being discontinued and what that could mean for the Fujifilm X-E line going forward, I quickly mentioned in that video that I believe one line Fujifilm will never drop is the Fujifilm X-Pro line.

Why?

Because the X-Pro line is a very prestigious line for Fujifilm. It was Fujifilm’s first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera and as such it is symbolically very important for Fujifilm.

Sure, Fujifilm won’t refresh it as often as they do with other lines, but it will continue (in my opinion).

But I said something else in the video.

I said that the Fujifilm X-Pro line will become a more “experimental” line for Fujifilm, and we can see that happening already now with the hidden LCD of the Fujifilm X-Pro3.

And you know what? I am good with it.

The Fujifilm X-Pro is a niche camera and I find it OK if the they try niche stuff with it.

So assuming Fujifilm will continue to experiment around with that line, what would you like to get with the Fujifilm X-Pro4?

An X-Pan X-Pro? Or maybe a monochrome X-Pro? Or why not get rid of the LCD entirely? Or keep the LCD, but put a stacked sensor in it and get rid of the mechanical shutter instead? Any other ideas?

Feel free to drop your wish in the comments. I might collect them in future and make a survey out it.

Share your Fujifilm X-Pro4 fantasies now.
