DPRTV 2020 Camera Companies Resolutions: Fujifilm Should Merge X-T and X-H Line and Sony Steal Fujifilm Colors

2020 Camera Resolutions

DPReviewTV has published their 2020 resolutions for every camera company, of course including Fujifilm.

Regarding Fujifilm, they say:

When asked if Fujifilm should merge X-T and X-H line, most of you guys voted you prefer to keep both lines well separated, and I believe that would make sense, for the reasons I explained in this article.

What I believe would make sense, though, is to give us a Fujifilm X-T4 with IBIS and maybe a bigger battery. Do that, and you’ll make tons of Fujifilm shooters happy.

I am not sure about the Fujifilm X-A7 flippy screen, though, as this would make it tilt in the wrong direction, when shooting portraits. Maybe that’s more something for the Fujifilm X-H2.

Neopan 400 is a much loved film, as you can see from these customer reviews. So make it happen, Fuji!

As recently measured, Fujifilm has currenty the worse face/eye AF. But I would not worry about that too much. A major improvement is coming via firmware, soon.

You can see the full video above, where, among the others, the recommend Sony to steal Fujifilm colors ;).

DPReview Products of the Year 2019: Sony A7R IV Beats Fujifilm GFX100 and Fujifilm X-A7 Pleasing Surprise

Best Gear 2019

DPReview declared their products of the year 2019.

When it comes to the overall best product, the Sony Alpha a7R IV beats the Fujifilm GFX 100.

On the other hand, the Fujifilm GFX 100 snaps the “best innovation award“, showing that Fujifilm is doing something special with its medium format line, and, as opposed to Tony Northrup GFX pessimism, I explained in this popular article why the GFX system has all the potential to break through in future.

Now back to the best of.

A pleasing surprise is the Fujifilm X-A7, a line that has been widely ignored on the web so far, but finally finds a spot in the sun, as the second best entry level ILC after the Canon EOS M200.

Check out the full ranking down below.

DPReview product of the year, 2019

  1. Sony Alpha a7R IV
  2. Fujifilm GFX 100
Pro wedding and event photographers, portrait and lifestyle shooters, and even a certain type of videographer have kept the GFX 100 on more or less continuous backorder since it was released. You may not need 100MP, but some people do. And the GFX 100, with Fujifilm’s range of excellent GF lenses, makes 100MP shooting practical and enjoyable.

DPReview innovation award

  1. Fujifilm GFX 100
While very little about the GFX 100 is new or unique to this model, what counts is how all the ingredients are mixed together. The addition of in-camera stabilization, impressive video capture and hybrid on-sensor PDAF to the medium format world makes the Fujifilm GFX 100 among the most capable and most innovative cameras out there.
Fujifilm has been working hard to democratize digital medium format for a couple of years, but with the 100 megapixel GFX 100, the company completely changed our understanding of what a medium format camera could be.
  2. Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM

Best high-end ILC

  1. Sony Alpha a7R IV
  2. Panasonic Lumix DC-S1R

Best midrange ILC

  1. Canon EOS M6 Mark II
  2. Nikon Z50

Best entry-level ILC

  1. Canon EOS M200
  2. Fujifilm X-A7
a significant camera for Fujifilm, and a great all-round option for beginner photographers in general. Significant for Fujifilm because it’s the company’s first entry-level offering that has really impressed us

Best consumer stills / video camera

  1. Panasonic Lumix DC-S1
  2. Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VII

Best compact/fixed lens camera

  1. Ricoh GR III
  2. Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VII

Best prime lens

Best zoom lens

  1. Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM
  2. Nikon Z 24-70mm F2.8 S

Best accessory

  1. GNARBOX 2.0 SSD
  2. Peak Design Travel Tripod

Best smartphone camera

  1. Google Pixel 4
  2. Apple iPhone 11 Pro

Dark Navy Blue Fujifilm X-A7 for Sale Now in Selected Countries and X-A7 In Stock Everywhere

Even before the official Fujifilm X-A7 announcement, FujiRumors told you here there will be also a dark blue version of the Fujifilm X-A7, and we showed you first images months ago here.

Since then, I have received a few request from readers, asking me about the dark blue version.

It might have been passed unnoticed, as I already said it here, so I thought I might say it again: the dark blue Fujifilm X-A7 is already selling, but not in all countries (as reported also by pcmag).

For example, you can find the Navy Blue Fujifilm X-A7 at the Russian store interfoto here.

So far, it is not available in North America or many EU countries, but it might come, if that color turns out to be particularly loved in the markets where it’s sold. Just as it happened with the brown Fujifilm X100F, which originally was sold only in selected countries, and then found its way also in the US market, although it is now again discontinued.

What you can find in stock everywhere, are all other Fujifilm X-A7 colors.
