If the Canon EOS R and Nikon Z series earned quite some flack on the internet, quite the opposite is true for the Fujifilm X-T3, and even guys, who used to cirtique Fujifilm quite hard and never recommended to buy Fujifilm like Gerald (link below), now say that with the X-T3 changed everything. He has one for testing, and is evidently blown away.

This camera has one equation that simply fits: it’s great value for money! So let’s check out the next bunch of X-T3 first looks.

X-T3 Review (Pixel Peeping Vs. X-T2 included)

Bjorn as published a 2 part review of the Fujifilm X-T3 (part 1 – part 2). The review also includes a high ISO comparison between the X-T2 and X-T3. JPEG only, since nobody supports the RAW files yet. So we are definitely far from being able to take any conclusions, but it’s interesting to see anyway.

“I must admit that I was expecting a larger difference between the two cameras when it comes to high ISO performance, especially since it is using the new Backside illuminated sensor (BSI). Realistically, there is about a one stop advantage for the X-T3 compared to the X-T2. I have no problem shooting at ISO 6400 and will bump it up to 12800 if needed. Compared to the X-T1 the difference is more pronounced and is closer to two stops better low light performance. For a cropped sensor camera, this is well within the ballpark.”

Fujifilm X-T3 Basically Same Look and Button Layout of Fujifilm X-T2

I have been informed (thanks) that the Fujifilm X-T3 will have the same button layout of the Fujifilm X-T2. Also the form factor will remain the same, with just some minor changes. Hence, once it will be announced, you won’t really notice any difference over the X-T2.

For me this is a good news, since the X-T design is loved by many just as it is now. Fujifilm did create the X-H line appositely to have more design freedom and craft a more DSLR-like camera. But the X-T should mantain it’s current form factor.

The Ultimate Fuji X: I know that this camera was in Fuji’s plans, and I know they scrapped it in favor or the Fujifilm X-T2S (which is basically an “ultimate X light”). However, I decided to already move the ultimate X rumors in the wrong rumor section, because I need a public statement of Fujifilm that such plans existed to share it as a correct rumor (as it happened with the X-Pro1s)… and also because otherwise the wrong rumor section would have been empty :)

Fujinon 33mmF1: In January, I reported that the 33/1 has been scrapped. As a consequence, I launched a huge lens request poll, where the 33/1 became the most voted prime lens by the FR-community. The results might have convinced Fujifilm to think about it again, as a rumor recently suggested. Hence you will find 2 rumors down below… the one that says the 33/1 has been canceled, and the one that says there is a little bit hope again.
