Imagine FUJIFILM would go FULL FRAME Tomorrow Morning…

If Fujifilm Would go Full Frame….

So, top Fujifilm manager Toshi Ilda said it clearly here: “We will NEVER go Full Frame!”

NOTE: this is not an article against full frame. I just try to put myself in Fujifilm’s shoes and see what it would mean for them to go full frame.

Now, apart from the fact that I 100% agree with what CanonWatch said:

Never say never, even if you’re making the best APS-C mirrorless cameras on the market

Remember when Fujifilm said they will never be able to offer IBIS on Fuji X Mount cameras?

Anyway, Fuji says. there won’t be any full frame camera, and according to this huge FujiRumors poll, most of you guys agree with Mr. Toshi.

But imagine…

Imagine Fujifilm would go full frame tomorrow morning.

Mostly due to the slower full frame sensor readout compared to APS-C (as listed in our advantages of APS-C over Full Frame), it would be a Full Frame Fujifilm that:

REAL LIFE SIZE COMPARISON: Fujinon XF16-80mm vs XF18-135mm and Fujinon XF16mmF2.8 vs XF35mmF2

These are the first real life comparisons between the Fujinon XF16-80mmF4 (mcok-up) and XF18-135mmF3-5-5.6 as well as the Fujinon XF16mmF2.8 (mcok-up) and XF 35mmF2.

These are nt final lenses, only mock-ups, so size might change until final release.

Unblike all the XF16-80 mock-ups we have seen previously, this one has no marked aperture ring.

And if you want to see how the Fujinon XF 33mmF1.0 compares to the XF 35mmF1.4 and XF 35mmF2, make sure to check out this article.

Fujinon XF16mmF2.8 vs XF18mmF2 vs XF16mmF1.4 – SIZE COMPARISON

Fujinon XF18mmF2 Vs XF16mmF2.8 vs XF16mmF1.4

This is the final upcoming Fujinon XF lens size comparison. In previous articles we covered:

The XF16mmF2.8 is a bit bigger than the XF18mmF2 and a bit smaller than the XF35mmF2.

The comparison is based on the images I took and what I have seen with my own eyes at the Photokina Fujifilm booth.

Of course this can’t be super-accurate, but I’d say it’s 85+% close to perfection. Keep in mind, though, that the size of the XF16mmF2.8 mockup I have seen at photokina might change until the final lens is released sometimes in 2019.

Fujinon XF16-80mmF4 Vs Fujinon Zooms

After my recent Fujinon XF33mmF1.0 vs XF35mmF1.4 vs XF35mmF2 comparison, readers asked me if I can compare the size of the Fujinon XF 16-80mmF4 with the XF18-55mmF2.8-4 and XF16-55mmF2.8.

You ask, I deliver ;). And based on this comparison, the XF16-80mmF4 looks like a fantastic travel lens!

The comparison is based on the images I took and what I have seen with my own eyes at the Photokina Fujifilm booth. Also, we took the filter size into consideration.

Of course this can’t be super-accurate, but just like with my previous comparison, I’d say it’s 85+% close to perfection. Keep in mind, though, that the size of the XF16-80mmF4 mockup I have seen at photokina might change until the final lens is released sometimes in 2019.

Fujinon XF 33mm F1.0 vs XF 35mm F1.4 vs XF 35mm F2 – SIZE COMPARISON

Fujinon XF33mmF1.0 vs XF35mmF1.4 vs XF35mmF2

As you know, I have been to photokina 2018, and I also have delivered you the worldwide first real life images of the XF33mmF1.0, XF16mmF2.8 and XF16-80mmF4 lenses, as well as a side by side comparison of the 3 new lenses on Fuji’s roadmap.

However, I keep up getting questions about how big the XF 33mm F1.0 is, compared to its little brothers, the XF 35mm F1.4 and XF 35mm F2 WR.

So based on the images I took and what I have seen with my own eyes at the Photokina Fujifilm booth, I try to give you a visual representation of how Fuji’s 50mm equivalent trinity compares side by side mounted on a Fujifilm X-T3.

Of course this can’t be super-accurate, and I’d say it’s 85+% close to perfection. However, the Fujinon XF 33mm F1.0 will hit the market in 2020, and until there, the final size can change.

In an earlier post on FujiRumors, we launched a huge poll, asking you guys if you consider the Fujinon XF33mmF1.0 is too big for you. 7,500 people voted already, and you can check the results here.

We also launched XF33mmF1.0 feature polls in the past, that you can check out here.

And speaking of 35mm lenses…
