We will also give you an overview over all remaining rumors for 2024 ranked by reliability.

    NOTE: one rumor instantly corrected (just misunderstood the source)
    NOTE: another one is 99% correct, just a small detail is not accurate (how much faster the GFX100II sensor is compared to the GFX100 sensor). Still today this is not clear, but I am brutal to myself and move the entire stuff into the wrong section

Next X Summit on February 20, 2024 (shared December 19) – I could easily move it into the highly super trusted accurate rumor section, but the only reason I move it into the medium ranking is that, as we have seen in the past, Fujifilm X summit date can be changed, even after Fujifilm has officially announced them. Remember when in January 2023 Fujifilm announced the X summit for April, and then in April they said they moved the event to May.

WRONG RUMORS IN 2023

  1. Laowa Argus 28mm f/1.2 Coming Next Week – First Product Image and Samples (shared March 22) – NOTE: we corrected the rumor shortly after, but it belongs in the wrong rumor section anyway)
  2. GFX100II not based on Sony A6700 sensor but another sensor (BSI and not stacked) that is up to 50% faster (as opposed to A6700 sensor that is 10-20% faster to read out) (shared September 6) NOTE – I AM BRUTAL TO MYSELF ;):: the sensor story is a bit tricky here, as some say it’s the same sensor, Fujifilm says it’s a new sensor with up to twice (100%) the readout speed. So it’s a bit complicated and looking at the confusion we had even after the GFX100II launch, I can understand why I got slightly different feedback from sources. But all of them told us Fujifilm will market it as a new sensor. So that’s accurate.

  1. This LEAKED Internal Fujifilm X-H2 Document Confirms Fujifilm’s Plan to Advertise X-H2 as Having Improved Low/High ISO Performance (shared January 3): NOTE: this is not in ranking, because even if clearly this is a leaked internal document, I could not find it anywhere made public.
